Still on Mizzous roster.  Not many on there, guess they trimmed down for a 30 man with incoming class.  Only 22 right now

Pretty sure it’s just a typo. I mean I hope that’s the case.

Not sure if I missed something, but I don’t see Gioffre on there anymore. I thought he had another year left.

You're right, and very interesting. Nitzel is also off the roster, but not in the portal. They also don't have any of the incoming freshmen on there, which could be a case of the HS year not being over yet.

Not gonna lie...and I genuinely mean this as no disrespect to a college kid, but...I'll be happy to see a new face at 149. Wasn't a fan of Gioffre.

I don't know how the registration works but how would such a typo occur?    I get how guys get put at the wrong weight but its not like Tiger Style and Nebraska WTC are grammatically close or would be near each other in a drop down menu.

There are two other Gioffre’s in the portal, both of Virginia. Are they related to Logan?

I don’t necessarily mind Gioffre. I think, currently, the closest replacement would be Seltzer. With that being said, I’m not certain this would be the replacement they need. Say Mendoza goes 41 and bumps Edmond up, I still don’t think that’s a good enough solution. Gioffre is okay in duals (doesn’t give a lot of points up, typically, but also will not score a lot of points). 
 

After this previous year, it seems a number of the starters prefer to be defensive or simply can’t finish their attacks. I’m no coach nor do I have the experience to comment on this approach, simply stating what I’ve noticed. I think if Gioffre isn’t the starter, we will see the exact same scenario as when he was.

 

Anyways, this isn’t the thread for that discussion I guess. I just finish Brian Smith’s book, and I’m eager to see how the team performs next year. Will be nice to see new faces next year or the year after.

I believe they are. I’m attaching a link as reference. Relatively the same skill and same weight class. I think Logan is the best, but that’s me being biased. Something to note is that Logan lost at the Big 12s to Johnson, and then his brother (29 over 4) beat him at nationals. Seems he gave his brother the cheat sheet. This makes me wonder if it’s as simple as your brother telling you what to do or what to look for in a match in order to win such an upset. Sinclair is registered for U20s at 86KG with Tiger Style.  Maybe whoever entered the Senior 92 KG pre seeds cut and pasted the 4 seed Eric Shultz's club?

Sinclair is still with Mizzou, pretty sure it's a typo from Schultz. Logan Gioffre is the older brother of the UVA Gioffre's. He and Nitzel both have another year of eligibility but are wanting to be done and move on. Believe Nitzel is wanting to go to chiropractic school.
