• Serious conversations are being discussed here. And decorum for serious conversation apply to those.
• Sophomoric banter is also being exchanged here. Maybe it's "childish" as you describe it, and you may be right.
• And humor, quite a lot of humor being posted - much of it is funny. No decorum required for comedy.

Lighten up - what you're reading in this thread right now is 'banter.'

In this forum, conversations sometimes run wild and still surprisingly produce interesting results. That's why I keep coming back.

But, to your point. Yes. When having a serious discussion - of which there are many here - decorum is required.
