Bassett/Zepeda/Vega Who do you guys have at the u20 us open

I'm going with Vega. Zepeda did not look good at dapper dan and Vega pushed Bassett last year here when he was super undersized (he ended up wrestling 61kg at trials).

Dude, there are so many entries- I love it! Bassett betters both Zepeda (who's out of shape after states) and Vega. . . watch out for Jesse Grajeda (dark horse) - he can hold his own with any of these three, as can Nininger and Manville- it's gonna be fire!!

I don't think Zepeda has taken a step back so much as Shaw took a step forward.  Shaw wasn't the same guy at the end of the year that he was in the beginning. 

Bassett v Vega will be awesome, but I think it favors Bassett stylistically.

Do we assume Zepeda is that good for any reason other than the fact that he has to be to prop up bartlett?

I agree with that his last two matches with petrovich at regionals and states would have never made me guess he could beat zepeda, but Petrovitch is tough and they were very familiar with each other. I think lehigh definitely got a good one with Van hoven he was shaws only loss during the season.

Knox,Raney,Ramirez,Kilkeary and I assume Lilledahl at 57kg will be really fun. Shocked to see Raney registered there thats going to be a pull I would imagine.

Love Vega. Reminds me of Saitiev, RIP.  But he loves to scramble and funk and in freestyle that’s not as effective.  I’ll take Bassett in freestyle but in folk I’d pick Vega.

18 months is a long time for teenagers to develop and Vega has improved a lot since then. Still, I think Bassett has a clear weight/strength advantage and he'd be my pick currently.

Yeah lost to Mendoza too.  I don’t follow every result.  They wrestled a close match more recently I think. May have been freestyle.  I still like his chances better in folkstyle and stand by my prediction.
