How is there no topic on Arnold almost topping Starocci for worst call out ever?

did he just not want the clip to be able to haunt him? Just say you're gonna beat starocci....does he know ferrari is gonna get the call? is this another "throw me"/sam stoll slap moment?

A little cringey to make that callout after winning in SV against the #20 guy.

He didn’t call out a specific wrestler though.  What did he weigh in at today? Any chance he drops to 174?

In fairness if its a legitimate(which it is almost certainly not) call out i don't see anything cringy....but yeah I think this means there is no way he wrestles starocci next week....

It is a little cringey but is still leagues better than:

Threatening public exposure at a graveyard

Threatening to physically assault an opposing team's coach

Mouthing off to Dieringer after losing to him

Misspelling Marstellar's name and insulting him on Twitter, again after losing

Sorta kinda insinuating retirement after defaulting out of the Big Ten tournament and leaving your teammates behind

Posting a picture of a dildo to social media.

Yeah, I get it, it's not the smoothest callout but are we really so uptight as a community that we need to complain about every single tiny thing? This kinda stuff isn't my jam but I can appreciate it's potential effect on raising the stakes for a match that most likely will be rather one sided

Educate me then

for one, most of it is predicated on the idea that I didn't imply starocci's call out of ferrari was still dumber.

for another you are trying to mount a legitimate defense based on the idea that other people are worse, which isn't a defense.

For another, you referenced how uptight we are for not supporting a callout where the perpetrator refused to mention his potential opponent's name at all....

I know who you support based on your post but no one wants to read about you defending them from a straw man.

I don't know if his comment was aimed towards you, but the thread topic in general? Arnold's statement isn't in the same ballpark as some of the things Starocci has said. Arnold's was a little soft if anything.

I'll be honest, I don't really understand what you're saying. I'm at a bar with friends so my reading comprehension has been compromised. We might just be talking past each other. 🤝

Yeah I'm derailing my own topic I guess. how about this...

Apologies to @Mr. PeanutButter....I think both Starocci and Arnold are attention seeking and sort of gross, and I'm curious why arnold refused to name someone in his call out.

Ok I think I'm getting it now. If you're going to say heads will roll, why not say your opponent's damn name? Commit all the way!

Agree, I’m thinking this could mean he’s dropping to 174

unless its because it was a planned attention grab leading up to a lineup shift...prefaced perfectly by Kennedy's loss actually.

Kind of a bystander, but does Arnold not really having done…anything, in college, carry any weight of ridiculousness here? Didn’t he also say something last year while he was redshirting? CS says some stupid ####, but he’s also a 4X National Champion.

arnold called him out in high school....which was even dumber. It's 10/10 ridiculous.

Sorry, I guess I'm not really up on the social media type stuff. Who did all that stuff?

That was pretty stupid! Arnold is a damn good wrestler though, he's going to win a title or two by the time he's done in his own right.

What would your reaction be if I claimed that your favorite wrestler, Spencer Lee, did all that?

Mr. I Know One Move said all that?

No, it was actually your 2nd favorite wrestler, Carter "future Oscar nominee and all around nice, bright young man" Starocci who did all that.

I was trying to do a bit but you shut it down 😔

I don't think Gabe Arnold is a gifted trash talker.  His delivery in the clip is below average.  But, I still embrace it.  Adds that extra spicy sauce to the dual.  Trash talk, proclamations, personal digs adds fun.

I Don't Agree With What I Posted

Cringe is when your call out is one half a team call out and one half an un named individual call out.

Stupid call out.

The only reason I don't use the word "cringe" is that he is gonna run into a complete monster next week regardless....so until he loses I think it's just stupid.....unless he knows the lineup is gonna be kennedy, ferrari and he's not gonna wrestle at all, in which case its the cringiest thing in the history of the NCAA...
