Biden commuted the sentence of Rita…. Who stole 53.7 million dollars (over 30 years) to buy horses and houses and pay her credit card debt….. and god knows what else.   White lady democrat.   Not even a super lgbtqwertyasdfghjkl;    I think she even married a white dude lol.

I thought pardons / commutes were for people who were wrongfully convicted not your friends.

don’t the Ds accuse white people of having far to much privilege?   How much straight white lady privilege does she have?

Rita stole ,embezzled all that money from the town coffers where she worked. Watched her on the show Greed. I think it was the largest fraud on a municipality in history. The town had been regularly audited by a large firm every year and they never caught her. The State attorney sued the auditing firm and got back a lot of the money. She had over 400 horses scattered all over the country. I believe they got 11 million dollars when the horses were auctioned off. Rita has never showed any remorse over screwing over her friends and neighbors in the town where she grew up. Unbelievable story.

I don’t understand the political need to commute her sentence?   The Chinese pedo makes more surface sense to me.

Joe is just giving one huge F-you to are judicial system before he says goodbye. The tens of thousands of hours of work to put these criminals away. The billions of dollars spent to convict these criminals. What absolute kick in the ass to all the policeman, attorneys and others who worked so hard to put these criminals away.

Maybe @Tripnsweep or some of the other lefties can defend.   @Le duke maybe?   @red viking will likely answer at 2am local time.

The ACLU and other groups wanted Biden to pardon anyone who was put in home confinement during the Covid pandemic and allowed to stay there after the emergency order was lifted. He gave them what they wanted. It is why it was part of such a large pardon order. Most of these people are now quite old, and non-violent offenders, so they had a very low recidivism rate, so it's an idea that sounds good on paper I guess. Still some pretty awful people can be included in this. The worst I've seen is the "cash for kids" judge who was sentencing kids to prison and getting kickbacks from the for profit prison they were going to.

The pardon power is already pretty abused at this point IMO and this kind of blanket action seems like it just expands on that abuse.

We should outlaw presidential pardons. They clearly aren't in the best interest of the general public and simply allow people to get away with crimes simply because they support somebody powerful.
