Wrestlers and coaches, I’m curious—how would you rank the difficulty of key wrestling actions? Whether it’s a takedown, reversal, escape, or nearfall, each action has its own challenges. Here’s a breakdown to get us started, but I want to hear your thoughts!

How would you rank these Freestyle and Folkstyle actions in terms of difficulty? (unranked below)

  • Grand Amplitude Takedown to Danger Position
  • Takedown to Danger Position
  • Takedown
  • 4-second Nearfall
  • 3-second Nearfall
  • 2-second Nearfall
  • Danger Position (Any Duration Back Exposure)
  • Short Amplitude Throw from the ground (with danger position)
  • Grand Amplitude Throw (no danger position)
  • 1+minute Riding Time
  • Reversal
  • Escape
  • Step Out
  • Passivity

How do the non scoring actions below fit into your ranking of above difficulties?

  • Holding center
  • Escape from a nearfall position
  • Defending a takedown
  • Escaping the cowboy from a prone position

You can use ranking tiers, but make sure to include clear differentiators (e.g., 1a, 1b, 2, 3, 4a, 4b, 4c, 5, 6...).

Complete period rideout should be rewarded! 1 extra The Referees are already controlling parallel ride stalling. You basically control your opponent for an entire 2 minutes straight and get 30% reward(1 for riding time) of a 5 second blast  takedown.

It varies depending on who you just wrestled.

@jross this is the correct answer.  Let's say you take 2 high level guys equal in talent.  The hardest move either could execute on each other would be an elementary level move like pinning with  a half nelson

Good point! Let’s picture it this way: both wrestlers are equally solid across every position, landing in the top 80% for every position, and winning 80% of their D1 matches. With that setup, how would you rank these moves by difficulty?
