I remember one of the psu faithful dudes didn’t compete at final x for third place for a spot on the team because it was not big deal and not a huge priority.

A super injured sucked down…. Stopped physically by medical personnel…… person typically doesn’t make the decision to move up 34 lbs to compete…. At least one would think.   All the while.  Wasn’t he ending careers and pizzin on graves or some crap like that?   I forget the comment but he deserves all the shade he gets.

I mean... Spencer Lee missed an OTT with injury.  O'Toole? Vito.  How many others?

Why is overall bonus % not relevant here.   It is still only 4 of 20 bonus wins.   Yes 3 were falls.   Do all of the 4 timers.

Bonus points also became easier to get last year and Starocci didn't get any at NCAAs for the first time.  This was after majoring the 4th place finisher 11-0 earlier that year at the NWCA All Star Classic.  There are a lot of ways things can go, but his performance could improve from last year.

It will.  He will be the first ever to not only get five titles, but also a sixth later that day.

He will be petitioning to compete in both weights.  The NCAA will start at 197 and end at 184 for the Finals and he will win both.

He will get 50 team points.

I think Sanderson closing in on Gable's for the most individual NCAA champs by a coach is the most significant record on the table.  Staroocci getting 5 is really only significant if he doesn't get it done and the team points record depends on too many factors.  Below are the top 20 coaches by number of individual NCAA champions.  I compiled it myself and there could be errors or omissions, but I think it's pretty accurate.
