If they had an OW, James should get it.  He really served notice that he's a middleweight to contend with. Va Tech got a good one.

Forrest-Mendoza was such high level wrestling.  Both are so good.  Mendoza will be a hammer for Mizzou.  Jax is Jax.

Bassett downshifted for his match.  Clearly didn't want a repeat of last year, so he rode instead of cutting, even took bottom, and wrestled pretty cautiously at the end. Props to Zepeda for giving him the rematch.  Now he's the one who wants the rematch, and I assume that can happen at Super 32 if they both go.

LaDarion looked smooth as usual.  Burton is tough but there was never really any doubt.  Agree he has future senior medalist potential if he keeps at it.  Will be interesting to see how he develops under DT.

Knox is clutch.

Solid officiating. On point, fixed their mistakes.  Well done by Flo.

As a PA guy was hoping Seidel would ice that one but Knox has the clutch gene. Seidel has a shot at breaking the pa all time wins record this season; Knox did not give him his ties though and he could not figure out how to generate.

I don't think we are going to realize just how good Seth Mendoza is until he's not wrestling Forrest and Lilledahl in every big tournament he enters.

Correa is a freak and does not get talked about enough.

Locket completely shut down Burtons offense with a stutter fake.

If Ziola grows into a heavyweight and keeps the style he has now I think he's a national champ.

Zepeda did not get on his offense early, I'm not sure if it was something bassett was doing or if he was a little gun shy from the crowd, but I do not think Bo is someone you want to be chasing down his go behinds are too good.

Too late to edit my previous post, but what does Correa say to the camera after his match?

Well apparently Correa initially wanted to go HWT, but per gents inside, he is up for 197lbs as well as he hasn't grown as much as he thought he was going to.

That said, Sahakian had nothing for him.  As impressive as it was for Correa, it was unimpressive for Sahakian - so Michigan still needs a guy there.

I could see Correa going HWT and going the Parris route.

That said, what did he say?  I have no clue.  I am old and shit at reading lips.

"I know actually nothing.  It isn't even conjecture at this point." - me

My lip reading isn't what it should be for being old and somewhat deaf.  However, well placed sources say it may have been something about reopening his recruitment. Can anyone else comment on this?

Then perhaps the rumblings I heard are wrong and assumptive.

I know he was pissed when Sahakian committed.
