Keith Gavin knew he could push Pitzer to finish that last minute and instead protected his athlete and gave up the dual.  Great coach, class act

details. I assume you are saying that Pitt was leading the dual by 5 or less, Pitzer was leading the last match, got injured, and rather than gut it out, forfeited, and lost the dual. Is that right?

Pitt was up 6.  Pitzer defaulted which made the final 20-20 and ASU held the advantage on criteria #2 (most 6 team points victories) giving them the dual.  Not sure the score of the bought at the time of the default.

Pitzer was losing by something around 9-2 at that point.  He could have likely finished the match without getting pinned but coach prioritized his wrestlers health over the dual outcome.

I believe Schultz ASU was up 4-2 going into the 3rd before the default.

I could be wrong but that's how I remember it.  Still they were on pace for team victory.  I think it's the right call if they feel he had a serious injury concern
