I'm not saying its a smart thing to say under the circumstances.

But anyway you aren't addressing the core idea, just because some people have nonsensical religious beliefs doesn't mean brooks has to. A religion is essentially a conduit for ultimate truth, there can't be multiple sources of ultimate truth, everyone who professes adherence to one religion is doing it to the exclusion of all others. Won't post again on this subject, not out of passive aggressiveness it just isn't going anywhere.

You seem to have a habit of declaring that your opinion is fact then refusing to have further conversation.  Odd

Jesus himself said that he is the only way to get to heaven. So as @Hammerlock3 said, a Christian can’t really acknowledge the legitimacy of other religions. I don’t think that makes Christians bad people, just strong in their faith. Now, I don’t think what Brooks said was a good idea and what he said it isn’t going to inspire Muslims to convert to Christianity (probably the opposite). Just wanted to clarify why Brooks said it.

Reality is that no one actually knows what "Jesus said". Nothing at all was recorded when he supposedly lived.

All the various religious groups and even they can't figure out just what is right. They fight among themselves and even cause wars over it. A lot of otherwise fine people are involved in many religions. They have faith, not knowledge because what they are basing the faith on is basically fairy tales.

” Never attribute to inspiration that which can be adequately explained by delusion”.

Anyone who feigns outrage at what brooks said just hates religious people in general. You can't be religious and acknowledge the legitimacy of other religions than your own.

Yes you can

The jewel has facets, and it is possible that many religions are moderately true.

Name that book. Then go buy a copy for yourself...and send one copy to Aaron Brooks. Brooks is 23. He will mature and gain a deeper understanding of God, humanity and this world that we live in.

Of course no one knows for sure and it requires faith to believe what the Bible says. Just like it requires a lot faith to believe that all the complexity of life on earth just happened by random chance. No one really knows and the origins of life and religions views will be debated as long as there is life on earth. But none of that is really relevant to this conversation.

The main point that is relevant is that, if you believe the Bible (which Brooks clearly does), then what he said is a manifestation of his religious beliefs. He just didn’t really say it in the best way (he’s in his early twenties after all). People who want to condemn Brooks for his faith are being religiously intolerant, which is a bit ironic actually.
