Goodale has really done a great job for The State University of New Jersey. The year before they hired Goodale, Rutgers Wrestling was on the chopping block and wrestled every match in front of 50 fans that didn't pay admission and had zero NCAA Qualifiers. They now are always top 4 in PAID attendance and Division 1 Wrestling in New Jersey is now followed by so many fans.

He was a risk too coming straight out of high school. But Coach Goodale has great presence and he knows how to handle Jersey folk. He’s made a career out of it and has taken Rutgers to new heights. He’s done a great job attracting the top NJ kids while sprinkling in a few from out of state. Congrats Coach Goodale!

Goodale deserves a lot of praise for saving the program.  It is an anomaly that not one of New Jersey's universities has yet to produce a college wrestling powerhouse.

May be an image of 1 person and text that says 'Look at this guy on the side of Route 287. #200 @coachgoodale Go RU! R CONGRATULATIONS 200 WINS CAREER SCOTT GOODALE RUTGERS WRESTLING ELGTL DIGITAL 32:20'

Great Highway to be on

  • About 155,000 vehicles travel that part of Route 287 every day, according to the Department of Transportation. The interstate highway is one of the busiest in New Jersey, crossing the width of the state, and is one of the main routes to Pennsylvania as well as New York.
