Washington CNN  —

The Republican chairs of the House Judiciary and Intelligence committees sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday asking for information related to the crafting of a public letter signed weeks before the 2020 presidential election by dozens of former intelligence officials, who said they saw signs the Hunter Biden laptop story could be Russian disinformation.

In October 2020, 51 former intelligence officials signed on to a public letter that stated that the appearance of the Hunter Biden laptop story on the political scene had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.” Though the former officials acknowledged in their public letter that they did “not have evidence of Russian involvement,” Republicans have argued that the letter helped discredit the laptop story just before the election.

... The committee chairs write: “Morell testified that on or around October 17, 2020, you [Blinken] reached out to him to discuss the Hunter Biden laptop story. At the time you served as a senior advisor to the Biden campaign. According to Morell, although your outreach was couched as simply gathering Morell’s reaction to the [New York] Post story, it set in motion the events that led to the issuance of the public statement.”

Morell testified before the committees that he had a phone call with Blinken about the Hunter Biden laptop story in the New York Post, and they discussed possible Russian involvement in the spreading of information related to Hunter Biden, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Bombshell: Ex-CIA Chief Confessed He Got 50 Colleagues To Co-sign False Hunter Biden Laptop Letter In Bed To ‘Help Biden’

Joe Biden's presidential campaign allegedly urged a top United States official to "help Biden" by getting signatures stating that the investigation on Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation.

The Biden camp reportedly asked former acting CIA Director Mike Morell to "help Biden" get 50 colleagues to sign a letter in October 2020 stating that the allegations about Hunter Biden's laptop having damning information was merely a ploy by the Russians to undermine the United States.

Morell told the House Judiciary Committee during a private sworn testimony that Antony Blinken, now the secretary of state, was the Biden camp official who asked him "on or before" Oct. 17, 2020, to organize signatures to say the allegations against Hunter Biden were Russian misinformation.

That came three days after the New York Post published an email from the laptop that suggested Hunter Biden introduced a Ukrainian business partner to his father, who at the time was the vice president of the United States.

Very interesting that this is coming out.   Velly Velly Intellesting!!

Cover-up Revealed: Attorney General Merrick Garland Identified As ‘Senior' Biden Official Who Interfered With Hunter Biden Criminal Investigation

Attorney General of the United States, Merrick Garland, has been confirmed as the unnamed official at the center of a new IRS whistleblower claim involving Hunter Biden.

According to a letter presented by the whistleblower's lawyer, Mark Lytle, Garland's testimony to Congress was not entirely true.

Lytle submitted information indicating that politics were "improperly infecting choices" in the high-profile tax probe.

The whistleblower's disclosures contradict the sworn testimony to Congress by a senior judicial official, who has now been confirmed to be Merrick Garland, per New York Times.

Federal prosecutors have considered four possible charges against Hunter Biden

Federal prosecutors have considered charging Hunter Biden with three tax crimes and a charge related to a gun purchase, said two sources familiar with the matter.

The possible charges include two misdemeanor counts for failure to file taxes, a single felony count of tax evasion related to a business expense for one year of taxes, and the gun charge, also a potential felony.

The federal investigation of Hunter Biden began in 2018. It has narrowed from an inquiry into his international business relationships, including any possible national security implications, to an examination of the income he earned from those ventures, and a false statement he’s alleged to have made during the gun purchase, said the sources.

In 2018, during a period when he has admitted using cocaine, Hunter Biden purchased a firearm, which required him to fill out a form that included a question about whether he was addicted to or abusing any unlawful substance.

Merrick Garland Reportedly Identified As ‘Senior’ Official In Hunter Biden Probe Whistleblower Complaint

Attorney General Merrick Garland reportedly is the “senior political appointee” whose sworn testimony an Internal Revenue Service whistleblower is casting doubt on in the Justice Department’s (DOJ) ongoing investigation of Hunter Biden, according to multiple reports.

A lawyer representing the whistleblower sent a bombshell letter to Congress Wednesday, alleging that a “high-profile, controversial” case managed by the DOJ — confirmed by multiple reports to be the investigation into Hunter Biden stemming from an alleged failure to pay taxes — faced “clear conflicts of interest.” The whistleblower further claimed to have information that contradicted the sworn testimony of a “senior” Biden administration official, who has been identified as Merrick Garland, first by the New York Post, and later by the Washington Examiner and Daily Mail, all citing anonymous sources.

These articles are coming out by the minute.   Thanks for hanging in there.   Perhaps we may see something come from all of this.   But maybe not.

The truth about this laptop was known they day its new ownership was revealed.  HB informed the Big Guy and the burial began.  The effort to obscure the evidence and multitude of crimes contained in it has undergone an effort the magnitude of which has not seen the planning of D Day.

If something came out of this, it would be a huge indictment of the right wing media.  For crying out loud,  they've had the laptop from hell for almost 3 years!

Nothing but lies and propaganda coming out of Washington.

As noted above, stuff is happening with lawyers and prosecutors.  And you are making the following point:

Lies and propaganda are happening.  Unsure what has stopped WSJ, NY Post, Fox and everyone else on the right from their appointed rounds. This on top of the obvious fact Trump and the people he appointed across the board were well aware of the laptop.  Nothing but libel and dick pics are coming from this.

It is one thing to tell a reporter you are considering charges.  Another thing to actually charge.  And another thing entirely to get a conviction.

C'mon now.  These are nothing, even if they go to conviction.  Doesn't have anything to do with Joe Biden and probably wouldn't even result in a jail term for Hunter.

People pay to play a round of golf or attend a social event to gain high level political access.  I don't necessarily like it, but Joe Biden is not unique in that regard.  If it is legal, the problem is with Congress.
