Don't forget that drubbing from 5x Mr. Bloodround himself, Mickey Phillippi

I was at that dual.  Was on a business trip from Vegas to the greater Pittsburgh area.

btw, Phillippi is a 4x R12 guy (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023).  He was an NWCA AA in 2020.

Something about those bright lights?

Something about not having a reliable leg attack or a regular stand up. It's like he looked at Adam Satiev highlights from the Kenny Monday match and said "That's all I need." And then asked his buddy GFeller how to get out on bottom. G said, "Have I got a move for you!" The only time he seems to have listneed to his coach was when he needed a top strategy. Perry was on the case: "Just throw double boots, look at ref in disgust, wait for a stalling call, and then get pissed when they call a stalemate. PERFECT!"

Hard to define this. 4x AAs who never won, e.g. Tyrone Lewis? Freakish 3xers, e.g. Fleeger or Trenge? 2xer like Scott Moore who were expected to run the table but but but?

Yeah it’s definitely a good debate, but it’s hard to beat 2,2,2,4 AND a world medalist while in college.

No doubt. Recency bias has me a little down on Fix right now. However, we can never take away that three-pointer vs Gillman at the Trials.

I’m not a big Fix fan.  Not because he isn’t a great wrestler, I just haven’t found him fun to watch in many of the folkstyle  matches I’ve seen over the past few years.

Still - no way you can’t feel for him.  Poor guy lost his last match of the NCAA tournament all four years.  Rough.
