that feels like a totally reasonable and self aware clip...

As someone who's dealt with bipolar individuals directly...no

America tried to normalize Kanye West being "wacky" until he decided he was God and ran for president - then his family had to commit him and get him back on meds

Trying to tell someone going through a mental health crisis that religion can cure them leads to very bad things

as someone who has been accused of being bi-polar (among other things) and definitely having it run throughout the family, you are painting too broad a stroke...

outliers think differently than normals, that does not make them bi-polar...

the religion thing i will leave alone... no matter what my personal feelings are about religion, i believe that it helps a great many people just get through the day/life/whatever... i can not fault them for that...

i should add does not "necessarily" make them bipolar...

i think "mental" issues get over diagnosed and 100% over medicated in this country...

if you are different, the trend is to want to normalize you so you can learn how to sit i na cube all day and be satisfied with being that little cog in the big wheel...

that is not to say their are not individuals who truly have a real chemical imbalance that causes real issues that can be mitigated to varying degrees with meds...

Have you ever went to a psychologist for testing?

Many people who are formally diagnosed deny their condition and seek out alternate coping methods - religion is always the first method they fall into.

Kyle Snyder has said Team USA holds regular bible studies together - that is not an environment conducive to helping someone going through a mental health episode.

I can imagine once guys like DeSanto are done with wrestling and don't have support networks monitoring them 24/7, that they're going to go completely off the rails.

other than middle school bringing a psychologist on a weekly basis for awhile, absolutely not...

i will not bother you with my personal thoughts on that...

and again with religion "always being the first", that is just white washing and a very non-nuanced view...

being formally diagnosed with anything is laughable at best... that formal diagnosis will be called something entirely different in (insert whatever # you want) years time...

i personally feel the vast, vast majority of these "diagnosis" are just another form of institutional control developed since we came out the caves...

salem witch trials... spanish inquistion... the red scare...

all mirrors of the same plan...

the absolute best way to deal with being different than the normals is just to learn how to exist among them without judging them too harshly...

i still fail at that occasionally...

Equating bipolar disorder to political propaganda is wild

Tell me your thoughts on vaccines...

i am not equating the real chemical disorder to instituional control...

i am equating the over diagnosis or medication to institutional control...

there are without a doubt some who have true chemical imbalances that have very serious impacts on their ability to even exist...

vaccines?

again, some that have very legitimate uses and cured some very legitimate societal problems...

some...

i will preface this by saying i have not listened to any of the interviews and do not plan to... i would rather eat ground glass than listen to the basch pod...

i like MM as a wrestler, but, his personality just does not grab me (shocking) and that is fine... i can just appreciate him from a pure wrestling standpoint...

i think all this "mental health" stuff is being a bit overplayed here, but, drama llamas love to do that...

could it just be a case of HEW and the young man is ready to move on?

he has competed on an extremely high level for a long time and he might just be ready to move on in life, but, still being pushed by literally everyone to continue and it could be causing internal conflict...

there is nothing worse than being "forced" to do something your heart is just not into...

and too many "fans" can not even fathom that someone with that much talent could possibly be just not that into it anymore...

absolutely no shame in that...

only the true psychos can keep this sport up at a high level for much longer than 10 years...

If it’s actually HEW, the story IMO is more about PSU than MM.   Here we have a guy who said in the past how much fun wrestling is, going to the place where everyone says how much fun it is, and it may not be fun anymore?  That’d be interesting.  Obviously doesn’t seem like similar has happened to many other guys there, but interesting nonetheless IMO.

Who does this remind you of

Stage mother syndrome is an intense behavioral pattern where a parent pushes a child into the entertainment spotlight, frequently driven by underlying personality disorders such as narcissism, histrionic personality disorder, or borderline personality disorder.

As outlined in Psychology Today, this dynamic places heavy psychological pressure on the child.

Associated Personality Traits and Disorders

Narcissistic Personality Traits: Parents often live vicariously through their child. Their self-esteem rises and falls based on the child's public success or failure. They make excessive demands on managers and view the child's achievements as their own.

Histrionic Personality Disorder: These parents crave constant attention and dramatic validation. Their moods dictate the household climate, turning family life into a performance where everyone else serves as an audience.

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD): Parents with BPD struggle with emotional regulation, swinging unpredictably between intense praise and harsh criticism. This leaves children in a chronic state of emotional insecurity.

Impact on the Child

Parentification: The child stops acting like a kid and instead becomes the emotional caretaker or regulator for the parent. Emotional energy flows upward to soothe the mother rather than downward to nurture the child

Emotional Manipulation: Narcissistic stage parents use intense guilt and manipulation to stop children from quitting activities.

Fragile Self-Esteem: Children learn to suppress their own needs to keep the peace, often developing anxiety, low self-worth, or a constant drive to perform just to "rescue" their parent emotionally.

This is him talking some mumbo jumbo, but I think there were more concerning parts during that interview where he was talking about weeping before and after matches and made it sound like family and friends had to do an intervention.  Again, very possible he was being dramatic- but if anything, I would consider him to be the "drama llama."

Basch and others think this stuff is great BTW lol

"Soulful" lol

Again he did not mention religion once. Your take.  His 'soul' without mention of God or religion would mean heart and desire or inner mood.  Should 'Soul Train' have been called 'Religion Train'?  I think your injecting a bit.

Normals to anyone who does not look/think/act like them- THERE MUST BE SOMETHING WRONG THEM!!!

this even being a discussion is worse than the absolute fukn losers in the NWT who go back and forth all day every day just parroting something they were told to say with absolute conviction...

so painfully average...

This is fair.  He’s definitely talked about religion in general in the past, but don’t recall if he’s talked about it in relation to his recent absence.

OK I believe it is his spiritual religious belief.  But in this case he is preaching. He is suggesting a spiritual process. I believe you are right in this case that he is offering faith as a possible outlet. I don't believe you are right that he needs help because he has this faith.

If he said inner strength, is he less crazy??

Let's set the record straight once and for all, since some of you pagans and heathens are selling false religious stories.

Mesenbrink was anointed at an early age to be the false god of cardio. He slayed all enemies, vanquishing them with amazing feats of cardiology and brushing them aside in the B1Ggest of stages as if they were an opponent who's hair indicates he has no soul.

It was not until he was defeated over and over by 100% jesus trained David of Carr that MM finally realized what his upbringing was false and his reign was not to be. For cardio is not a god, it is merely a Flo state, and Mesenbrink is a vessel unto which that state shall be delivered.

That is to say, he is but merely a humble merchant of cardio and he is singing the good word telling us not to be Jealous, lest the demigod of Jonas would cause Mesenbrink's heavenly keys to be out of tune with us all.

i am an idiot on the internet
