Rush

[mspart]

My brother and his buds are HUGE Rush fans.   The saw the show last night in LA.   I watched a previous show on Youtube.

First of all, Geddy's voice so far is better than its been in a long time.   Still a monster bass player, wow!

Second of all, they played a lot of great songs on youtube and even more for my brother last night.   So they are mixing it up a bit to keep it fresh.

Third of all, I laughed when they said they were getting a female drummer.   Like anyone can replace Neil, but a woman?   That woman Anika is a monster on the drums.   Absolutely incredible.   She actually is doing the job and looking like it is fun.   My brother said she attacks the drums.   She is the right hire, that's for sure.

Fourth, Alex is looking old but playing good.   He just never disappoints.   I play guitar and am very consistent like Alex.   Only I consistently screw it up and he doesn't.   I'm not that good but love to play.   He is that good and loves to play.

Fifth, I think they did pretty good and didn't need backup players like Triumph apparently needs.   The musicianship is high caliber.   Good show.

I didn’t like rush when I was a kid.  Tbh I hated them for no real reason.    Probably because Tom Sawyer played soooo often on the radio

with that said.  I have so much more respect for bands now that I started (poorly) playing guitar.   Bands I didn’t “like” all of a sudden gave great riffs or great songs I didn’t properly appreciate.

rush being one of them.

I wore out turntables playing "Moving Pictures" in middle school.  From what I've seen, the drummer is great and is enjoying it!

Saw them once, about 30 years ago.  Had what I felt were the perfect seats for the kind of show they put on…front row center of the second level.  It was an amazing show. Impressive they are still kicking ass.
