Haines did not redshirt, which is impressive.

He went 2nd, 1st, 3rd and 1st.  Career record of 98-4.

The 4 losses were to champs Dean Hamiti, Keagan O'Toole, Austin O'Connor and a puzzling loss to All-American Vinny Zerban.

Career bonus rate of 58%

He’s among the best 2x champs. Not many college wrestlers are reigning world silver medalists.

This is why he should be considered the best two time champ ( still enrolled in college).

Very, very impressive resume

What about Steveson?  He was an Olympic Champ while competing in college.

Craig Henning got screwed in the 2007 NCAA Finals.

I was only taking abot the penn state guys.

Sorry for the confusion.

Obviously Snyder, Steveson and Uetake were better than Haines.

Snyder and Uetake won 3 titles so they are not on the list of 2 timers

John Smith and Steveson are among the very best 2xers. Off the top of my head I can’t think of other 2xers (aside from Haines) who were world-level medalists while in college. I’m guessing there are others.

Neither Dan Gable nor DT made a world-level team until they were out of college.

JB, John Smith, Gable Steveson, Dan Gable, Randy Lewis better so far ... I doubt Levi is ever a world gold medalist or Olympic gold either

Dan Gable did not make a world-level team either in college or the summer after college.

JB won a world gold the summer after college. To my eye he was world-championship caliber the year he won his Hodge.

Levi is only 21 and lost in the world finals last year 3-2. I’m not sure how you can doubt he’ll ever win gold, but you’re certainly entitled to your doubts.

The US has a long history of one time world silver medalists who never medal again. It's even-money Haines never medals again.

1. Steveson

2. DT

3. Askren

4. Levi???

Deserving of mention is Dick DiBastista, who never lost a match and was a 2x champ in the early 1940's.  Then freshman were not eligible for NCAA's and one year was cancelled due to WWII.  Lower Merion High School legend (like Kobe Bryant).  After competition served the sport as a wrestling official.  He has gone on to his reward but deserves a mention lest we think this is a new sport.

I like your answer.  I just don't agree with it.  I'd like to see 8-14 please.

Yes, I was only referring to psu wrestlers that are still enrolled in their respective universities

2x champs I would rank over Levi Haines:

-John Smith

-Jordan Burroughs

-Ben Askren

-David Taylor

-Gable Steveson

-possibly Zahid Valencia and Isaiah Martinez

There are a lot of all-timers who won 2 NCAA championships.  Taking nothing away from Haines, as he might be one of those "all-timers" that we add to this list in a couple years.

As for being in college. He has more accolades than Taylor.

I don't think he will be as successful as Taylor. But, he did something Taylor could do.  Win a world medal while still in college.  Which is super impressive imo.
