It gives a feel there is someone running a Bible study in state college who brings in all the new wrestlers and convinces them they will only win national titles if all they do is speak and spread Jesus’s name.

They probably use all the recent examples like Aaron Brooks who couldn’t complete a sentence without referencing god or Jesus or the Holy Spirit, and then goes on the  getting suspended for taking Adderall and PED’s.

Kyle Snyder goes to State College and gets caught in a prostitution scam and instead of saying he’s sorry to his wife and will work on repairing his family, he says he’s gonna talk to Jesus about it and see what he thinks… after all Snyder is still competing at the senior level and wants to win more titles.

So every time they speak it’s a Jesus infomercial.

And it feels like it’s got around to every top kid wrestling because it’s now what every one does.

AJF thought he’d get on the bandwagon so he pulls an opponent down he just beat to make him pray with him.

Then he gets smashed by Yonger Bastida and now he’s back to the drawing board as an atheist and accusing others of using HGH.

There is nothing wrong with being a Christian and having faith.. I know that’s who I am. But that’s doesn’t mean you have to be a prophet and try and shove it down everyone else’s throat in a sports arena.

I asked the Ohio State board what they thought it would take to persuade Jesus from leaving State College and come to Columbus after their Big Ten infomercial.

First couple posters that responded thought I was referring to Cael.

I get that the penn state staff downplays the importance of an NCAA championship in part because in the grand scheme of things it isnt the most important thing these men will do with their lives (being husbands, fathers, leaders)  and in part to help calm the nerves of the moment but it seems to have gone so far they cant even enjoy it. Mitchells post tournament interview was just sad. He seems almost depressed and lost and like he thinks hes not allowed to let this mean a lot to him... you can do both guys.

You can understand the moment doesnt define you or your life and also be elated. Jesus will not be upset if for a moment you are truly happy to have accomplished something worldly that ultimatley has nothing to do with him or being a good christian in general. You should strive to be a good christian in your life but they have taken it to a weird extreme where, as i said earliler they sound almost nihilistic but they just tag "except for jesus" on the end.

Completely different from Aiden Valencia who was elated, confident, authentic, grateful, and humble...and much easier to listen to.

It is very odd. Like come on guys, if you arent excited to win a national title then what in the heck do we do this for???? Penn state guys barely cheer for either other either. Other teams their family and temmamtes are screaming/cheering/yelling matside!

It’s also much easier to say things aren’t important when you get them. It’s much harder to say that when your dreams are shattered.

See Blaze in all their photos. He  did not seem like a guy who was indifferent to winning a NCAA title. And it’s no shade on Blaze, he deserves to feel emotions.
