  1. Past hour
  2. No worries D3, theres a few others generous with their time like you to carry the torch for those of us without access. It’s thoughtful guys like you who make the forum such awesome place for wrestling fans!
  3. You start with the tomato can opponents. Gradually work up to real competition & hope your guy has learned enough by then to keep winning when the result is actually in question. Big problem with this stuff is that most of these guys can't hit worth a damn.
  4. It would be interesting to see whose visa Saduleev would use to enter the US.
  5. Kyle vs azarpira is 50/50 match Kiyooka has the edge over amouzad though. He's defensively wound and doesn't seem to gass unlike amouzad who put pressure and fade the last two minutes.
  6. His dad is Iranian. He's not a transfer or anything.
  7. you mis-spelled Tom Brands
  8. Chill dude. I'm not even Iranian. Always liked Kyle Snyder but he got lucky with the draw this time.
  9. Lee has the recurring nightmare playing in his head: How can I afford another Title loss? So, not getting to the Title match saves him the worry & more to the point - he is not on the hook to buy his mom anoher pair of eyeglasses.
  10. It is unlikely that any of the other "big 3" had two guys who could beat NCAA champs while in high school, but it also wasn't a thing back then. We have had high school kids who could wrestle competitively with top college (and beyond) guys, but they weren't trying to. There are more elite kids like that today and those kids are challenging our open level guys. (I have heard both Yianni and Spencer say that they were competitive with high level guys while in high school)
  11. Oh yeah? Well I just went for a 4 mile shakeout jog in the midwest heatwave and dropped 5.2 pounds in less than 30 minutes but you don't see me making excuses about it. Snyder wins tomorrow, beats Parris next month, and faces off against Sadulaev at the super bowl bye week RAF event. i am not confident that Snyder even scores a point tomorrow.
  12. Isn't Yoshida (97) from Japan of Iranian descent?
  13. I really think there are pieces of evidence missing. The most important the bullet lead has to be ballistically matched to the gun. Also a standard "Mauser type bolt action" has a one piece wood sock/forend that would not fit in the backpack. So I would really like to see this gun. I think Sauer makes a quick takedown mauser but the standard wood is long. these 2 things bother me
  14. I have to think it will be. Amouzad has looked amazing for about 4 minutes, but that’s not going to cut it against Kiyooka.
  15. At one point Wasatch High School had all 3 Sanderson brothers and some other good wrestlers on the team.
  16. I don't disagree on anything. Just some interesting data points.
  17. Their first match was 2.5 years ago when Azarpira was 21. In their second match a year and a half ago, Snyder was up 3-0. After that, Azarpira went on to outscore Snyder 10-1 over their next 8 minutes of wrestling. Azarpira's loss to Zahid 2 years ago at age 21 was when he was sucked down to 92kg for the first time in numerous seasons. The only guy Azarpira would not be favored against is Taz--who he just beat. I like Kyle's chances, but he's not the favorite.
  18. Real talk... he is 3rd. That singlet pull cost him a point, it's bull$hit.

  20. Tik tok is a cesspool for reasons, but sometimes useful for following wrestling. This last week was full of folks itching for violence after the Kirk shooting.
  21. Jax being fifth in the world at the age of 18 (I think) is insane. Wow.
  22. In Snyder's final I think the difference is who is wrestling better at this moment. Could go either way but Snyder has got to be favorite. Snyder's run since 2015 is now approaching legendary GOAT status. If he can hold his body together 3 more years he could surpass Bruce, JB and Smith!
  23. How do we feel about Team USA’s performance so far? Spencer: 1-1 (eliminated) - Disappointing. Jax: 3-2 (5th) - This feels really good, especially when you consider that he (arguably) should have been a medalist. Real: 1-1 (still hope for a bronze) - About what I expected. Duke: 1-1 (11th) - Can't be mad about this effort. Carr: 3-1 (going for bronze vs Sidakov) - About what I expected, but in retrospect it feels like he could have been a finalist. Haines: In the finals - Better than I expected. Zahid: Champ - Not a surprising result, but his dominance was at least slightly more that I expected. Hidlay: In the finals - Feels about right. Snyder: In the finals - Snyder just medals in world/Olympic events. Hopefully he can get another gold. Wyatt: 0-1 (17th) - Not that surprised, but slightly disappointing.
  24. Also good match for azarpira but he's inconsistent first two matches he really looked bad . Snyder was lucky with the draw . Easy way to the final.
  25. Honestly, only our book-ends laid a dud. Everyone else wrestled tough. Carr, Duke, Real, Jax - despite not bringing home Gold (or Silver) all wrestled to their potential (I think).
