Hey MLB, my perspective is that Caliendo was determined not to get teched (to his tremendous credit by the way, everyone else has quit by then), so he wrestled hard for a reversal and ended up on his belly locked on a leg, at which point he was hit for stalling. I could see how wrestling not to get teched is stalling 99% of the time, but he was doing it in an active way. Also I don't know why he was expected to either let go, or finish the reversal from insanely bad position. In my opinion the ref saw was he was trying to do (keep in mind it is not a refs job to read minds, nor make calls based on the scoreboard), and wanted everyone to know he knew so he hit him for stalling to seem clever. hope thats clear and relevant to your post

I'd simplify and say his #1 priority if that his opponent never has a chance to win. Meaning he isn't gonna open himself up if he feels like there is a 10% chance the position won't go his way. Position supersedes all other concerns, and if that means less points than so be it. As great as he is, you can't say what you can say about later stage Nickal Retherford Nolf etc, which is that its gonna be next to impossible to beat them with one TD. I'm sure you're idea is in there too....
