  1. best places to sit down and eat?
  2. its probably another thread, but I think Iowa and ISUs coaching staffs do a comparable job. ISU is seems more flexible and dynamic, Iowa is probably the best place for establishing a lot of basic areas, but they don't seem like they can sharpen the tip of the spear very well. I don't think michigan does anything particularly well.
  3. This is a nit pick but too funny not to mention. On his X he posted pictures from his sisters wedding, all of which include him.
  4. well to explain not defend, Iowa had 20 plus years of running around talking about how people love to hate them. You have to pay a tax for that. Hence the scrutiny.
  5. Rumors from pretty good sources, no "inside knowledge." I know that's uselessly vague but if I only dealt in facts I wouldn't post on here.
  6. they people mentioned in this discussion aren't in the portal yet....hamiti was in the portal about 7 seconds before committing, almost as if he knew in advance.
  7. I hear they are willing to throw round serious serious portal money right now...
  8. Just to repeat what I just said, I don't that was the intent. I think someone who doesn't know wrestling was charged with promoting the movie and ran with what they thought was interesting.
  9. To explain briefly, and maybe you'll disagree with this sentiment which is fine, they are making a headline out of something incredibly common, so unwittingly looking kinda dumb imho. Additionally, the headline comes off as if its a hit piece, and we all know Flo isn't going to go negative on anyone they want an interview from unless they are simply reposting factual information conveyed by others. So I think the headline comes off completely different than what they intended. I think what happened is someone was supposed to promote a rather boring movie and ran with what they thought was the most interesting part.
  10. you completely misunderstand my post.
  11. unfortunately that's probably what he's wearing to prom...
  12. great example of Flo having no idea what they don't know wrestling and have no idea what they're going for as a platform...
  13. I don't know how you go from a lean 200 pounds to 165, and in this circumstance I don't believe smith just likes weight cutting too much.
  14. i find that difficult to believe, I saw fat Johnny hendricks during that time, I've never even imagined fat dieringer.
  15. This post feels like someone trying to throw out every negative Brands trope without actually making a substantive point.
  16. i've heard he is on a football scholarship also.
  17. For the record, also getting Super 32 champ Parker Ferrel, who didn't compete his senior year and trained at Tech.
  18. That guys X is so annoying, its just laying waste to strawmen and lame posturing.
  19. I'm team southpark.....at least we're all team simpsons, unless you're some type of heathen.
  20. I believe smith controlled his weight year round, if the aforementioned were doing that I think he wouldn't treat them the same as someone like hendricks, who reportedly got up to 200 pounds in the off season in college as well.
  21. that word always gets a reaction just for its use...usually shawshank redemption though.
  22. theres something true to that but its not that simple. Cormier was openly braggin about how much mcdonalds he was eating and how he was 30 pounds over weeks before he made weight and defauted at the olympics. I get that you can claim this behavior was the result of brain damage from cutting weight, but its also cormiers fault. Dieringer competed at 74 kilos for awhile, and the suspicious part of his accent after that isn't related to an eating disorder. And you'd be hard pressed to make a case that he or hendricks were at the wrong weight in college. Like I said there is something to it but its become a trope that just people just drop as if it was set in stone, when every instance has its own complexity.
  23. Especially a jacked up guy like him, skinny guys seem to compensate better, and squatty guys are generally sturdier but its hard for them to heal.
