Unrelated to the topic but no they don’t have a program. They hired a pretty solid coach but he wasn’t able to get it going, I think at the most they had 4 kids. Not sure if it was the school or what.

not really predictions but just looking at possibilities at each weight I feel really good about where the US is at in what I would call a transition year. 57- Lee / Lilledahl - two of our greatest age level wrestlers ever and spencer is an olympic silver, but I think either of these guys would medal. 61- Vito / Forrest - Obviously vito as his best is the man, but if he is off and Forrest wins I think Forrest could medal. 65- McKenna / Woods - McKenna is a journeyman with some good wins under his belt. Woods wrestling well right now. One of our biggest ?s 70- Yianni / Duke - Yianni is obviously great and has been in world finals. I am super high on Duke. 74- MM / Carr - I dont see any way Mesenbrink isn't the guy. If guys don't lace him up he is gonna give senior level dudes fits. But even if Carr wins he has a U20 gold. 79 - Wick / Haines - Wick I don't know anything about internationally. Haines didn't medal at cadet worlds. I have confidence in them but ? 86- Valencia / Dake - Valencia is a world medalist and Dake is an all time great. we are good either way. 92- Hidlay / Barr - Hidlay and Barr both have age level medals. 97- Snyder / Zilmer - If Snyder wrestles, obvious favorite. Don't have a big sample of Zilmer at 97. 125- Hendrickson / Hillger - Hendrickson has U23 medal.

I don’t think there was a final X last year
-
The clock didn’t run properly on the graphic at the end it got stuck at 4, so I can’t tell if it was a takedown or not. I don’t think so. I think they hit the mat with 1 second and Dake had chest lock. Not enough time to establish control

Coaches who should be in the hot seat after NCAAs
d3grappler replied to WrestlingRash's topic in College Wrestling
Tom Brands seat is freezing cold. Not gonna fire the only guy to beat Penn State in the last 10 years and 2nd best program overall. Tom Ryan might be getting a little warm. 2 AAs with their resources is rough. -
School submits to pac 12

Seems like most on here have already figured this out, but the ncaa does not certify eligibility, that is done by the school and their conference. edit: the ncaa will however, be coming down on Little Rock.
-
Good for the sport to see Kentucky wrestling having some success, Spencer Moore & Stephen Little looking to have great tournaments and Bellarmine will be the first Kentucky school at the ncaa tournament since the early 80’s I believe.

FLO Video of the 2008 Olympic Team?
d3grappler replied to RandolphTJones's topic in International Wrestling
I cant figure out how to embed the video but if you type cog sprints workout on flo it will pop up date July 27th 2008. There is also a good one on there from The year before training for 2007 worlds -
probably contradicting myself a bit here...I am on JB's side on this for multiple reasons but I don't think he should have brought it back up in an interview, keep that in house and let it die.

DT is one of our all time greats. Even after some time off if he is in decent shape he will roll through this bracket.

u20 men's freestyle path to the best team to date
d3grappler replied to Truzzcat's topic in International Wrestling
Yes for some reason the 92kg bracket wasn’t there so he was listed as not in the tournament it was weird -
I know you don’t want to over strategize but I just don’t see how you can take many shots on this guy he is too good counter offensively.
-
So what’s the strategy for Kyle here? Don’t shoot and beat the shit out of him with a hand fight and go for push outs? Maybe look for a high shot at the end?
-
Agreed.

Did they win gold in 2000? I don’t think they did until Slay got it somewhat recently from failed drug tests
-
winning the olympics is hard
-
obviously the top side would have been better but I don't mind this draw for Zain. Get's the Iranian off the scale and before he has had a warmup match. Maybe we get him tired?

MFS 74kg, 125kg and WFS 62kg draws
d3grappler replied to oldschool's topic in International Wrestling
Some good wrestlers on other side of bracket but it will still be tough for Dake. His matches with Emamni and Takatani were close. -
He has 3 years of eligible left and still on the team! Took an oly redshirt this year
-
That Japanese wrestler beat brooks at junior worlds! Also, I think Abdulaev is a much more favorable match for Spencer than the Armenian, but he is good!
-
Did anyone see what happened in the stadnik Mongolia semi at 50kg? I looked at the score and it was like 7-2, then the Mongolia scored late and suddenly it was 3-4?
-
this didn't age well...
-
The 68kg girl from Japan is really good. Going to be an interesting match with Elor.
