  1. I’m just imagining Carter standing in the middle of the mat, pointing at Gabe on the bench, saying, “You!” while Angel Rivera and Kennedy wait for him. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. A phrase we use in my line of work: “Everyone wants to be a gangster until it’s time to do gangster shit.” No one knows how they will react in a horrible situation until it happens. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. You might want to review who is currently in RS and who is committed for PSU. 2026 PSU is going to be young-ish but you’ll have SVN, Haines, Nagao, Mesenbrink, Kasak and Davis around still. Plus Desmond, Lilledahl, Henckel, Sealey, Ryder, Barr, Facundo, Cunningham, Duke, Perry and the Mirasola twins. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. I’d take Mendez over Bartlett based on recent appearances. That said, Bartlett is a superb counter wrestler and Mendez will take a lot of shots. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Caleb Fish gave Mesenbrink his best non-PSU match of the year. By a good stretch. That dude went for it. Really impressed by him. Hope he AAs this year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Yes. Plenty of state schools have extension campuses; I doubt many have them 1000+ miles from the state in question. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. At the very distant University of Iowa Extension Campus, no doubt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. My wife has had several female OTC and WCAP athletes in her classes. Has another one this semester. We’ve seen two of them out and about in town. I think they appreciated the fact that I knew who they were and had an interest in their careers. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. Mesenbrink would have one loss in your scenario as well. Currently undefeated. If he wins out through B1Gs, he’s the 2 seed. And, assuming that loss is at B1Gs to Hamiti, he’d be whatever and 1 as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Who else took an Olympic RS without being qualified or trying to qualify for OTTs? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. This came up on the Penn State board. There are some people taking an Olympic RS this year. Whether or not they have “real” chances of making the team or not is irrelevant; you could say that there are only a handful of guys at each weight who do. If you qualify for an Olympic RS but then don’t meet the criteria to qualify for the OTTs (or even try to meet them, such as entering Senior Nationals, US Open, go to U20/U23 and medal, or entering + win the last chance), your RS should be burned and that season of eligibility should go up in smoke. The rule is in place to help people who are actually trying to make an Olympic team. Yes, this is about a very particular individual. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. 55 years ago? You think it stopped 55 years ago? My first infantry battalion commander was in South America in the early 2000s. A contractor I know spent half of his 22 year Army SF career in Central and South America. Neither of them are 60 yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. The Cass who was able to weigh in at 97kg is getting smashed by Davison and Schultz. Unless Cass has magically added 20lbs back on in the last couple of days, no, he's not beating those two. Brands was 5th last year. Kennedy could do 5th-7th. And, Kennedy is actually wrestling right now, with a good record. Brands would have to get a lot of matches in ASAP, magically stay healthy in the process, do quite well at the B1G tournament and then get a lucky draw for NCAAs to repeat his result.
  17. Over their replacements? Hill and Kennedy? Unless Cass became a pinning machine, his likely 5th-7th place this year isn’t magically scoring 8 more points than a 1-2 or 2-2 Hill. Nelson and Kennedy? That’s a wash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. This would bring them like 8 points closer. Only 67 more points to go, Iowa! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Perhaps the care for his athletes and their best interests is the reason Penn State can sit the best wrestler in the country and beat Michigan 27-9. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I don’t think the NCAA cares. Seriously. In the case of Nelson Brands, for example, the kid admitted to it. Due process is irrelevant to the NCAA; they aren’t the US government. Also, pardon me for not taking Tom Brands seriously when it comes to the legal or athletic implications of this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Man, a coach focused on observing his wrestler’s performance vs a crazy person acting like a 5 year old, a la Terry Brands. How dare you, Cael Sanderson. Don’t you know this is a sport for the emotionally unstable? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  22. Hendrickson got torn apart by Kerk, or are we pretending that didn’t happen now? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. I thought Iowa was the clear favorite, Jimmy? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. In his weekly press availability, Cael said they are going to have to get the 149lber (Evans or Kasak, likely both) some more matches to help the conference qualify the weight and earn an allocation. So, seems that from that perspective there is certainly a negative side to reduced match counts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Is Bekzod officially retired now? Because that dude is a tough out and repped Uzbekistan at the last two OLY games, making the bronze medal Marc each time and winning one of them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
