  1. Cenzo 2.0
  2. No idea how Kasak got that takedown
  3. I think that a step-out rule would be a good idea.
  4. On the mat, I’d like to see wrestlers go back to neutral if there is no scoring after 30 seconds.
  5. What will Gable do next year?
  6. Time for a step-out rule IMO
  7. Pinto-Braunagel was fun to watch. Good stuff.
  8. Only 13 undefeated wrestlers left: 149- Henson 165- MM 174- KOT 174- Hamiti 184- Keck 184- CStar 184- McEnelly 197- Buchanan 197- Ferrari 285- Kerk 285- Hendrickson 285- Steveson 285- Trephan
  9. If you want a kid to be a four timer, it might not be great to put four-timer pressure on him right out of the gate.
  10. I think JB has hit reshots from his knees on opponents who were also on their knees. Could be wrong. Also JB is unique.
  11. Ferrari had a close 3-1 match with CStar and now he beat #3 Plott. I'm no wrestling coach, but I'd love to hear more about why he's redshirting. (Arnold, of course, is an excellent wrestler.)
  12. Who do you think it will be?
  13. Who might leave Penn State? One of Nagao/Davis? Sealey? One of Ryder/Barr/Con. Mirasola?
  14. How would it work to have singlets with buttons for attaching shorts to? In the old days of NCAA wrestling, at least for a while, athletes competed with with nothing covering their torsos.
  15. This is what Mike Tyson reportedly said about his legacy in an interview with a 14 year old: "I don't believe in the word 'legacy.' I think that's another word for ego. Legacy doesn't mean nothing. That's just some word everybody grabbed on to. Someone said that word and everyone grabbed on to that word, now it's used every five seconds. It means absolutely nothing to me. I'm just passing through. I'm gonna die and it's gonna be over. Who cares about legacy after that? So I'm gonna die. I want people to think that I'm this, I'm great? No, we're nothing. We're just dead. We're dust. We're absolutely nothing. Our legacy is nothing."
  16. CStar has a 92.31% bonus rate this year.
  17. It seemed to me like Ferrari was backing up, wrestling from his knees at times, and being defensive — and it seemed like he presented a unique challenge with his combination of speed, strength, and flexibility. I’d say C Star was smart to not fall into into traps and take the controlled win Also, Ferrari is a great wrestler, and he’s going to have a great career. Very impressive performance.
  18. In a dual meet, bonus points could potentially determine the outcome.
  19. Seems possible. Whether he pursues MMA or not, I could see him going to the world team trials and worlds (if he makes the team). Personally I think he's already world class.
  20. I have zero insight into the likelihood of Steveson being beaten this year -- but it's not often that a former Olympic champ is competing in NCAA wrestling. Aside from John Smith, I'm not sure who else there's been.
  21. What, in your opinion, does prolific mean?
  22. Kasak got third last year. Seems like another AA finish would be expected.
  23. Why not get rid of weight classes and placement, except for #1. While we’re at it we could also get rid rules against submissions, rules against striking, and time limits. Each team could bring their baddest athlete to the NCAA tournament, and only one will remain standing at the end of it all. That single individual would be worthy of an NCAA title. Imagine the excitement!
  24. This year, Japan's five lightest weights were totally in beast mode: 57- Higuchi (28) -- gold 61- Ono (20) -- gold (10-2 over Uguev; 12-0 over Vito) 65- Kiyooka (23) -- gold (10-3 over Amouzad) 70- Aoyagi (22) -- silver 74- Takatani (29) -- silver What are they doing that makes them so good?
