It was challenge or lose

Armenia wins 5-1 in his semi final to pull Bey into medal contention
-
Azizli lost 3-1 in semis to Iran, Raney out

I picked Helen, I figure she keeps running those numbers up. Just just pinned her way to the finals. Watched her post match interview and she's very very faith driven. So god willing she keeps going but she could be done tomorrow.

Armenian won 3-1, has Iran next
-
Yes I thought many performed well. Still young so I expect better results next year
-
Helen Legend! Amazingly clutch inside trip FTW!!!
-
Disappointed at the tournament the women had for sure. But they are super young
-
I'd pump the brakes on GOAT talk, one of his teammates has better odds at a much weaker weight for the coming years. He'd have to go on THE all-time tear

Trent is the man

57 - When I see top guys take losses like that my question isn't the skill, it's their love of the sport. I hope Spencer isn't burnt out on this because he's talented enough to run the table until 2028, I truly believe that. Hoping for a huge resurgence from Spencer 61 - Wow wow wow. Jax is the man and could end up being...let me not. Not saying that wrestling is basketball, but calling this kid the potential goat is a LeBron level of pressure on the young gun. Let's let him develop and see where he is in a years time. I think he will only get better. He got hosed bronze medal match. I understand refs are human and mistakes happen, but that was all so ugly. He should be able to say he's a world medalist but alas, he cannot. He will be back. 65 - Real woods medaling here is awesome, so glad he got a lot of matches. Honestly should be more excited considering the weight class but honestly nothing here excited or surprised me at all. Wouldn't feel confident to pick him to medal again now. But he has nothing but time to train and now he sits out to Final X... 70 - Broken record, PJ is the man. PSU is going to, like they do every year, have some tight roster battles and everyone in the country is curious to see how 157 shakes out. This guy was right there with a world champ. Wanted him back in action for bronze so badly. Don't know if we see Duke at 70kg again but sure am excited to see his trajectory. 74 - Heartbreaker. Can't wrestle the way Carr did in the last 60 seconds vs Sidakov. We'd have another medal and he'd be at Final X prepping for Mitch for a whole year, now he has to run the gauntlet. He's on par, seriously good. Needs better in-match IQ and with JB in his corner I think we will be just fine at this weight no matter what. 79 - Levi is so good and still young. Undefeated Hodge szn loading? He looked so sharp in every match. His bout vs Usmanov, sheesh, calculated. Kougi has his number right now, nothing to hang his head about because that kid looks to be a top p4p in the world. Wasn't feeling good after Final X but once this guy focuses all in, watch out. 86 - KING ZAHID. Had this penciled in and boy does that run feel good. He looked other worldly. Utter dominance by him and with DT coaching him for the foreseeable future, I can see a really good run from Zahid. Not much to say because he's him 92 - What. A. Match. Watched it live and 2 since. At the break I had to double check that this was the same guy that lost to Mike Macc(what?). No disrespect what-so-ever but how did he lose to Mike Macc and then 2 months later make world finals? Anywho, Trent stormed back with the same gameplan and small in match adjustments and took him deep. That last 4 had me jump from my office chair. Pending what happens with Brooks I feel comfortable with this weight regardless 97 - Kyle has sipped from the fountain of youth and won gold again. Match vs Azapira was so boring and didn't catch much of the rest of his matches, self admittedly I was watching his supposed finals opponent Taz. Happy for him and hope he can carry this momentum to 2028 125 - Wyatt looked flat. Maybe it was the bright lights, nerves, inexperience idk. But that was a poor showing and I'm sure he knows it. He teched the guy who teched him at U23s. Unfortunate. With the injection of Parris and Kerk getting back healthy the depth will push us back to competing for medals again, trust. Team race - Runner-ups is a great finish here for us. In a "down year" we are a few performance improvements away from gold. On the other hand, we are a DNP away from bronze as Japan is on our heels. They worry me more in the Olympics than worlds but Iran is the standard. Their performance was consistent and solid at every weight. I have full confidence we will be back to winning the race in 3-4 years time consistently. Biggest question is where is Russia? Feeling affects of war? Economic issues? Losing athletes to MMA? They are still the best in the world to me and was a Sadulaev away from a 3rd place finish. Other thoughts - N Korea didn't come to mess around. No shot we find out anything about their training regiment but man color me interested. Lots of underperformers in these worlds ie. Lee, Usmanov, Sidakov, Valiev, Taz, ect. Look for our team to continue the trend of youth filling the squad because they're coming. As the time of posting this our women's team is getting decked except for queen Helen. Overall very happy with how we did

Kind of a weird call. Azapira gets dinged for grabbing fingers. Didn't see him get warned at all and a point was rewarded to Kyle. Not an expert of the rulebook but would be interesting to know the language there for that rule
-
One lady of the night it is. Snyder gets it done
-
He might be the p4p best in the world, in the first period
-
Amouzad is ridiculous
-
Boring, but a win and thus a bronze for Real Woods in his first trip
-
Not firing like he was his first two matches
-
Welker back in too as the kyrgyzstani won her semi final
-
Kilty pulled back in as the Russian made finals
-
I love Helen Maroulis
-
I've got Sidakov vs Valiev

If there's a post match interview to look forward to, it's his

Been calling this. Trent for gold. Ice in his veins

The only thing they are okay with is the way seniors went. Their tournament at U17s was a good showing but may be the one of the biggest chokes I've ever seen
