. According to prosecutors, ABC News reports that Pecker agreed to help Trump's presidential campaign by using the National Enquirer to:
Catch and kill negative stories about Trump, especially those related to women, by buying the rights to them and then suppressing their publication.
Publish negative storiesabout Trump's political opponents.
This agreement marked the start of the "catch and kill" scheme aimed at influencing the 2016 election.
