  1. He shouldn't have shuffled.
  2. That's gonna sap KOT a bit
  3. Old man strength, check! I'm going after Haines next season
  4. AOC created a blueprint for others to follow against Haines next season
  5. Solid wrestling from AOC. Haines had nothing for him.
  6. Why not give Haines the blood time for his nose while they spin their wheels with the review?
  7. Haines looks a little tight and tentative. Nerves?
  8. I've got Haines but wouldn't be surprised if AOC pulls a Bubba on him
  9. Does Glory shoot on Ramos right off the clock?
  10. Not gonna lie, I dig this and feel the same way about most of the matches. But I think RBY gets introduced to the F-k Around-Find Out curve tonight.

  14. Are there concerns about conference stability in the Pac12? There are rumors that the 4 corner schools could bolt before UCLA and USC leave for the Big Ten. Wondering if Griffith will want to stay in conference if the Pac12 dissolves. Maybe it won't affect him either way, this realignment stuff can happen quickly and slowly at the same time.
  15. I didn't see anything chippy going on between Yianni and SVN after the match. Quint thought Yianni looked upset too but it turned out he was joking around with his coaches and saying "this is what it looks like to have some nuts" or something like that.
  16. What's Griffith's link to PSU and Michigan? Off the top of my head, ISU might be an interesting fit to see what comes out of working in the room with Carr, DSJ, and Metcalf but IIRC they might have a recruiting logjam around 174. Not totally sure.
  17. I appreciate the analysis, great stuff. My thought was that Haines will funk it up and give AOC looks that he's rarely encountered before. Combine that with pushing and pace and it could spell trouble. I wonder what the Vegas line on this match is. It feels like such a toss up.
  18. The biggest problem with Iowa Wrestling are the Iowa Wrestling Fans, myself included. Hawk fans are a passionate bunch but have little tolerance for even the most constructive criticism or dissent and are all too willing to eat their own. Too much victim mentality, be it the refs, the rules, or PSU fans. Expectations way out of line. I'm learning to appreciate the sport itself and enjoy the wild ride of the season for what it is.
  19. Trump did campaign events with the Iowa team during the last presidential election. Nelson Brands seems fond of him. I am guessing he wanted to horn in on the spectacle that would have ensued if Spencer Lee finished as a 4-timer, so I would not be surprised if he bailed. Also would not be surprised if he made a boneheaded comment about the semifinal match.
  20. I agree, it's hard not to like Ramos especially after the way he handled the win. He also kind of looks like a little kid and has that scrappy underdog thing going for him. That's not a slight, just an observation. Gloray has been attacking right off the whistle the entire tournament so we will see if Ramos and his coaches are prepared for that tonight.
  21. Looks reasonable. You don't think Haines's style is a bad matchup for AOC? At a minimum I think Haines is the 3rd most likely from PSU to win a title tonight.
