  1. Agree. Watched them last night and thought that if this is their best team in years, then the standard of this once proud program sure has dipped.
  2. Excellent match. I'm sure SVN will adjust for the next one. Great dual in general in spite of PSU's dominance. I have tremenous respect for how hard Nebraska competes.
  3. the latter. Most high school wrestlers are same as ever. But the studs are extraordinary.
  4. Curious if others agree, disagree and why?
  5. He needs more matches preferably at some opens and eventually a drop to 157. He looked like a good imitation of himself yesterday technique wise. It was a very impressive performance for a guy who nearly died and was partially paralyzed for awhile.
  6. Bucks desperately needed an outside voice who fit their culture. Coleman Scott is a great hire.
  7. Just trying to stimulate discussion. The forum can get stale.
  8. They are alleged to have reached out to Cardenas. That would have been throwing Geog aside as well.
  9. As someone who participates in a local Ohio State forum known for it's quality discussions, no one thinks AJ Ferrari is a good idea. I suggested it and the consensus was unanimous that he's not at all the sort of person Tom Ryan wants to bring in. But Ohio State would be a much more dangerous team with a competitive Sasso and Ferrari in the lineup. Good enough to challenge for runnerup. Incidentally Tom Ryan is very close to Tom and Terry Brands. I would not be surprised if he called them to find out exactly what they'd be getting into if they brought in Ferrari.
  10. Spencer Lee's top game is arguably the best in USA history in freestyle. RBY is done if Lee gets on top.
  11. I don't work out as much as I used to but when I do, I wear sweats and refuse to drink water.
  12. There's only one guy for the job. He's rested, experienced and a Wisconsin grad.
  13. Michigan went out and completely remade their lineup with transfers. The reason was obvious--they had a weak squad due to some recruiting misses and lack of development. Griffith, Davison and Gomez all had excellent tournies. So did Ragusin but he was the only "homegrown" wrestler to do so. Former AA and transfer Deaugustino had a pedestrian NCAA's. Two Time AA's Amine and Lewan failed to place. True frosh Lemley, who'd climbed the rankings after embarrassing Woods, also dnp'd. On paper, UM was arguably the second best team in the country. They finished 3rd with a team of hired guns. Same can be said of Iowa. Four placers....5th place...three placers were transfers. Also Worth noting--PSU transfers Nagao and Truax were not better wrestlers in State College than their previous schools. In fact, Nagao was flat out better at Minny. Any thoughts?
  14. The thing about PSU is that everyone always thinks that "so and so's are graduating" so they'll be weaker. But then they reload and it's the same talk all over again. Bucks have a terrific young squad but they're not close to knocking off PSU anytime soon.
  15. These programs typically have plenty of smart graduates who earn a lot of money. Technically, you're correct but one would expect that wealthy Ivy wrestling alums could figure out how to put together some NIL in a way that's within the rules.
