  4. You were directly replying to a post about the American wrestle-off card
  5. I knew what was happening - political maneuvering behind the scenes - and I turned out to be correct You introduced false information to the conversation which I assumed might have some merit, but now I know not to trust your word in the future
  6. No you didn't - we were talking about the US wrestle-offs:
  7. The visa issues are still unresolved and, 5 members of India's Greco team won't be making the trip: Visa row: Greco-Roman wrestlers give up hope with team scheduled to depart in hours Nikhil Malik (GR 97kg) has taken shelter in his akhara in Sonepat. He travelled 70km every day to Delhi for the past three days. Unfortunately he is the only GR wrestler, who is above 23 but was not given a visa. "I am 23 and this was my last opportunity to compete at the U23 Worlds. I am the only GR wrestler from the lot who was declined the visa despite being above 20. During the interview, the lady at the counter asked me about my job status. When I told her that I am jobless, my visa was rejected," Nikhil said.
  8. You're the one who claimed Bella had "no visa" and couldn't leave the US for Worlds
  9. Remember when you said that Bella Mir turned down the Kennedy Blades wrestle-off because she didn't have a visa to leave the US for Worlds, but now it turns out they're having a RAF match in Abu Dhabi
  10. Chad Bronstein said in an interview a few months back that one of his goals with the RAF Clubs initiative is to open enough wrestling academies in Texas to cultivate talent so that a D1 school goes "ok, we give up" and starts their own wrestling program
  11. RMU Announces Addition of NCAA Division I Men’s Wrestling Robert Morris University announced today that it will add NCAA Division I men’s wrestling as its newest varsity athletics program, creating new opportunities for student-athletes throughout Western Pennsylvania and across the country, while building on the region’s deep wrestling tradition. The RMU Wrestling Team is expected to begin competition in the 2027-28 academic year, with additional details regarding the program’s inaugural season, coaching staff, competition schedule, and home venue to be announced as plans are finalized. “Western Pennsylvania’s wrestling tradition has been built by generations of outstanding athletes, dedicated coaches, and passionate families,” said Dr. Ron Moses, Vice President and Director of Athletics at RMU. “Adding men’s wrestling at Robert Morris gives talented student-athletes another opportunity to compete at the Division I level close to home while earning an outstanding education. We want young wrestlers throughout this region, and beyond, to see a future for themselves at RMU, and we’re excited to build a competitive program that our campus, alumni, and wrestling community can rally around.” RMU’s location places the new wrestling program within a region where youth clubs, high school teams, and collegiate programs have long contributed to the sport’s success. The addition will strengthen the University’s connections with local wrestling communities while attracting student-athletes from across the country. Men’s wrestling will become RMU’s 20th sport, reflecting the University’s continued investment in Division I athletics and opportunities for student-athletes. The program’s conference affiliation will be announced once finalized. Prospective student-athletes, coaches and supporters can follow RMUColonials.com for program updates, including coaching announcements and future recruiting information.
  12. What is your take on RAF potentially hosting Greco matches? I think it would be neat for a grudge match if someone like Braunagel has a close loss to a freestyle wrestler and calls for a rematch. Like a "how about you come into my world, Sadulaev?" kind of thing. But I think RAF delegating 1-2 matches to Greco each show would just confuse/bore the crowd with the different ruleset.
  13. Simply pointing out that your tale of Chad Bronstein going out of his way to contact your sons is illogical No one would pay to watch your sons wrestle Greco
  14. Can we all agree LJB's kids should be forced to wrestle freestyle if they do RAF Starting to doubt LJB's "Chad Bronstein personally called me and asked my sons to wrestle Greco" story I bet the reality was more like "one of my kids saw Chad Bronstein at an airport and mentioned he was a wrestler"
  15. Nothing says "user friendly" like me having to go into the source code of UWW's web pages to retrieve birthdates and direct links to wrestler profiles
  16. You're just ignoring everything the article is saying to push the age cheating thing The Indian wrestlers who were denied didn't have any current employer listed Are you saying the Iranian wrestlers all have side-jobs outside of wrestling? Or did they list BS jobs on their visa applications?
  17. Victoria Anthony only made one senior World team Undisputed trailblazer, but she ran into brick walls for most of her career
  18. I'm not sure how you can read any of the articles yesterday and come to that conclusion - the US government doesn't regulate age groups in wrestling. It's just the American government being shitty: USA Denies Indian Wrestlers Visa For U23 World Championships In Las Vegas - Unemployment Cited As Reason The Wrestling Federation of India has now written to the US Embassy in New Delhi and requested that the cases be reconsidered and that players be handed visas, so they can participate in the mega event. The governing body pointed out that the athletes are young and hence do not have formal employment. "Today, 24 participants appeared at the Embassy for their visa appointments, out of which 16 were wrestlers. Unfortunately, 09 wrestlers were refused visas, reportedly due to their employment status and are below 20 years of age. Accordingly, many of these young athletes are understandably still pursuing their sporting careers and are not formally employed. We are deeply concerned about the remaining wrestlers who are scheduled to appear for their visa appointments tomorrow, as most of them are also currently unemployed and below 20 years of age," the WFI said in their letter to the Embassy as per PTI.
  19. Iran thanks US wrestling federation for cooperation in visa issuance The federation had applied for entry visas for 39 members of the national freestyle and Greco-Roman squads to participate in the Under-23 World Wrestling Championships in the United States, 38 of which have been approved. The visa for one assistant coach has been delayed due to incomplete documentation and late submission. However, a representative of the Iranian federation in Turkey is actively following up on the matter, expressing hope that the issue will be resolved shortly. India wasn't so lucky: Indian wrestlers’ U23 World Championships participation in doubt after US visa refusals Several Indian wrestlers, including 2024 U17 World Champion Neha Sangwan, have been refused US visas, putting their participation in the upcoming U23 World Wrestling Championships in Las Vegas from October 12 to 18 under a cloud. The wrestlers were verbally informed about the refusal on the grounds that they were below 20 years of age and unemployed. Their passports were returned to them when they visited the embassy for interviews on Wednesday. The Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) has now urged the US Embassy in New Delhi to reconsider the cases and has also requested it to grant visas to the wrestlers who are scheduled to appear for their appointments on Thursday. According to a letter written by the WFI to the US Embassy, nine wrestlers were refused visas on Wednesday.
