  1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunning–Kruger_effect He'll just move on to saying Bo Bassett will be UFC champion in 2029.
  2. I think it's time we had the once unfathomable "maybe RAF shouldn't let their guys compete in UFC" conversation The potential Hendrickson-Steveson rematch just lost a lot of luster
  3. Next Gen Miami is live on Fox Nation right now!
  4. 100% - at Middleweight they should have booked Moody against someone like Mugzy or a washed MMA guy like Tony Ferguson Imagine Moody walking out of the arena last night with the Middleweight Crossover Title instead of getting embarrassed by a current World Team member. It was a missed opportunity. I'm assuming the lower-tier monthly show would be on free TV somewhere. Bischoff has always talked about a weekly show, but even I don't think that's sustainable. Bronstein said in the article about RAF Times Square that they want to do three shows/month starting next year - two domestic and one international. So each month a big domestic show on Fox Nation, a big international show on Fox Nation, and then RAF Fight Night on free TV somewhere. The Vegas venue next month is interesting since Bischoff said a while back that a RAF weekly show would likely be in a casino. So imagine if RAF turns Fontainebleau Las Vegas into their own version of the UFC Apex.
  5. Larry has never done contact sports in his life, so Tarzann in theory would smoke him Tarzann's around 205, so sticking him against someone like Joaquin Buckley would make sense - big name MMA guy on a losing streak RAF is talking about 3 shows/month beginning next year - if they end up doing a "B-Show" like UFC Fight Night where they can let the more inexperienced guys get matches, that would help to build up new stars instead of making everything so sink or swim like it is right now
  6. An evenly matched crossover bout like Tarzann-Mugzy from last night is more appealing to me than watching RAF pay Bo Bassett a small fortune to tech someone in under a minute. The problem is that RAF signs most of the wrestlers to 3-5 match contracts. So if they end up sucking in their first match, RAF either has to buy out their contract, or keep using them in matches where they're destined to lose (Luke Rockhold, I'm looking at you)
  7. The refs should get on the mic before/after reviews like NFL referees and explain to the live crowd what's being challenged and why the scoring was either upheld or overturned
  8. Chael: "Kennedy, great win!" Kennedy: "JESUS IS GREAT. I LOVE JESUS. DON'T WE ALL LOVE JESUS?"
  9. DeSanto's a little b*tch What a cowardly move
  10. Mugzy barely pulled it off, but he pulled it off
  11. RAF has already talked about doing Greco matches, and they hold Folkstyle youth tournaments on national TV every month
  12. Burroughs wrestled in Times Square when Beat the Streets used to put on events there, and he seemed to love the atmosphere - I wonder if he requested it:
  13. Real American Freestyle wrestling property sizing up Times Square outdoor event for 2027 Real American Freestyle, an upstart wrestling property that has quickly created waves in combat sports, is working to put together an outdoor event in Times Square, according to co-founder Chad Bronstein, as fight promoters increasingly seek out extraordinary destinations. The property is in its second year and has attracted attention in part because several big-name UFC fighters have competed in its events multiple times despite there being no apparent connection between UFC and RAF. Bronstein said TKO Group Holdings, which owns UFC, has no stake in RAF, but he speaks “quite a bit” with UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell. The run of UFC fighters competing in RAF will continue this weekend in Miami, where those scheduled to wrestle include Belal Muhammad, Khamzat Chimaev and Colby Covington. Other UFC fighters who have competed in RAF include Bo Nickel, Arman Tsarukyan, Merab Dvalishvili and Henry Cejudo. Wrestling is just one of the fighting techniques that go into mixed martial arts, which combines many disciplines, so RAF and UFC aren’t competitors, Bronstein said. RAF is aired by the Fox Nation streaming service, and it has put on 14 events so far. In recent years, fighting properties have produced a litany of events at unique locations. Saudi promoter Turki Al-Sheikh and his Ring Magazine have held shows by the Pyramids in Giza, Egypt, and one in Times Square, and he also has mused about putting a fight card on Alcatraz Island. UFC held cards at the Sphere in Las Vegas and White House in Washington D.C. Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship hosted an event on the field of Fenway Park. Dana White has said that the UFC is now looking into its next “one-of-one” event location. “We are talking about doing a special event in June in Times Square,” Bronstein told SBJ when asked if RAF was exploring the trend. He said the company contracted $75M in revenue over its first year in business and is increasingly being sought by entities and municipalities in countries all over the world. It’s already held an event before 15,000 fans in Georgia, the country near Russia, and it recently put on a show in Moscow. Bronstein listed India, China, Turkey, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan as countries that are interested in hosting an RAF card. Next year, the property is considering doing three shows a month, with two in the U.S. and one internationally.
  14. Hulkster wouldn't have allowed Team USA's World Team members to wrestle in a high school gym Brother Turning down business opportunities and taking the moral high ground on every single issue probably isn't the best idea for a fledgling company trying to follow in UFC's footsteps (UFC is running a show in Abu Dhabi next month)
  15. Это происходит
  16. RAF booking hometown heroes in specific markets is smart Ray Lewis headlining a show in Baltimore (or DC?) would make sense I was thinking last night about what a RAF White House dream card would look like I came up with: Gable Steveson vs. Wyatt Hendrickson II Ray Lewis vs. Elon Musk Ronda Rousey vs. Kennedy Blades
  17. I am aware of who Hulk Hogan is Just not sure what bnwtwg meant by "selling out and throwing everyone else under the bus for personal gain" in relation to this thread Are you mad this show isn't happening in America or something?
