  1. I dont have any inside scoops - I just caught it on Wrestlestat and have seen projections from other knowledgable types on the matter that - whether Nagao is on Med RS or not - Davis is the expected starter. And I'm totally with you on Byrd. Love his style
  2. Guys who are moving from 125 to 133 for this year: Drake Ayala Anthony Noto Luke Stanich (will be on RS) Braeden Davis Brett Ungar Jack Maida Ethan Berginc Tristan Lujan Sean Spidle Ryan Miller Markel Baker Drew Heethius Separately, the following guys dropping down to 133 from 141: Cleveland Belton Jordan Decatur Lucas Byrd returning from medical redshirt. Connor McGonagle enters the field off the bench from Lehigh. Vito, Fix, Teske Colaiocco exhaust eligibility, Nagao enters a medical redshirt, while Latona and Basile bump to 141. Sorry for the tangent, but 133 got turned on its head this offseason.
  3. according to coach: 125: Peterson 133: Shawver: 141: three way dog fight between Olivieri, Hermes, and Fongaro 149: Clark vs Cetta 157: Connor Harer probably 165: someone needs to step up and grab this spot 174: Turley 184: Soldano or Cartaegena Walsh 197: Poz 285: Yara he mentioned some of their wrestle-off/indicator matches have been flipping back and forth in terms of results
  4. I hate to be a downer, but with what's happening at Campbell, after the recent NCAA changes, for me, there is a concern of program retention for many of the smaller schools. Here's to hoping we can minimize those losses if they are coming.
  5. Terukina probably walks around at 134
  6. Surprised by looking at him? yes Surprised after listening to Dresser's commentary over the years about Terukina's lifestyle and lack of commitment to cutting weight responsibly? No
  7. Good question although I suspect that the difficulty of the weight cut was a big part of the reason for so many upsets.
  8. that makes sense. thanks WKN
  9. I think Howard's injury problems were the root of the problem. Not a concern about talent, but his ability to stay healthy.
  10. Howard is no longer on Penn State's roster. I'm not sure if he's done wrestling all together or just decided to move on from Penn State. Lilledahl is expected to start 125 for them as a true freshman. Davis expected to go 133. Nagao is on medical redshirt. Kasak is expected to start at 157. Haines can't make that weight any longer.
  11. RIP
  12. With such a lack of information, and such a rapid transformation in results and talent attraction/retention for a major big ten school, it seems as if the onus should be on Bono to prove what he is actually doing then.
  13. I share your disappointment brother. I thought they had such a fun team a few years back with Gomez and Hamiti in particular. Someone is truly asleep at the wheel over there
  14. Few folks on X have given great insights. Many times the AD of these small schools is looking to move to a bigger conference and so needs to serve football and basketball first
  15. but they said that scholarship athletes will not be able to compete (and so in effect going from 9 to zero as I said in the other thread I started)
  16. Cutting from 9 to 3 scholarships, but the worst part of all is: They will not allow any wrestler that is on scholarship to compete. In essence going from 9 to zero scholarships for their actual wrestlers.
  17. just a guess, but maybe they will be added for second semester?
  18. Wrestlestat showing Daniel Cardenas on redshirt. No clue why. That was news to me unless it was an error. other redshirts who are not freshman by weightclass as projected right now by WS: 125: Tyler Klinsky (Rider) Joey Fischer (Clarion) 133: Luke Stanich (Lehigh), Aaron Nagao (Penn State), Max Leete (American), Cody Phelps (Michigan State) 141: Tom Crook (Virginia Tech), Pat Phillips (Franklin & Marshall), Raymond Lopez (American) 149: Casey Swiderski (Iowa State), Caleb Tyus (Southern Illinois Edwardsville) 157: Daniel Cardenas (Stanford), Cody Chittum (Iowa State) 165: Caleb Fish (Oklahoma State), Chris Moore (Illinois), Sloan Swan (Wyoming), Jake Slotnick (Hofstra), AJ Rodriguez (Maryland) 174: Brayden Thompson (Oklahoma State) 184: James Conway (Franklin & Marshall) 197: Justin Rademacher (Oregon State) 285: David Szuba (Rider)
  19. they had several of their best wrestlers last year on medical or olympic redshirt. they will be fierce this year. Thanks for the incredible breakdown @ILLINIWrestlingBlog. This is the stuff that makes wrestling forums worthwhile
  20. Maybe then 165 through 197 could look like this: McClane, Ruiz, Fayzullaev, Valencia.
  21. 125: Figueroa 133: Chlebove 141: Ysaguirre 149: Vasquez 157: Larkin 165: Ruiz 174: Valencia 184: Fayzullaev 197: Acciardi 285: Schultz
