  1. Cayden Henschel?
  2. Tannelli could be an interesting choice. He's done great work at Columbia
  3. Could Fish bump up with Gilcher going back down to 157?
  4. Looks like a pin from a match over two years ago. Fish has been R12 and R16 last two years and Carlson didn't even qualify this year. Fish is an AA threat for me
  5. Carlson to me seems decidedly worse than Fish and 9House has been at backup 174 this past year. Maybe he got tired of sucking down
  6. Caleb Fish at 165 would be a decent grab for someone. He majored in business and wants to be in finance or accounting for his grad program. He personally enjoys hunting. So a rural school with good finance/accounting. Illinois, NC State or maybe Oklahoma.
  7. I think he actually has two left after getting a medical for last year - using one redshirt, and getting the free covid year
  8. 125: Nolan Wertanen / Chris Cannon (can he make this weight??) 133: Dylan Ragusin / Chris Cannon 141: Sergio Lemley 149: Dylan Gilcher 157: Chase Saldate 165: Beau Mantanona 174: Cameron Amine 184: Jaden Bullock / Rylan Rogers 197: Rylan Rogers / Transfer Portal 285: Ira Jenkins / Transfer Portal I could see some room in the lineup for Tristan Lujan if Cannon cannot make 125
  9. Never heard of this but I'm super intrigued
  10. I'd consult with both Askrens and John Mesenbrink on who to hire as coach. Instead of poaching youth for college within the same state - let the AWA program alone since its running successfully. But make sure you have their view before going forward. The goal is alignment
  11. On the plus side, as a SUNY school, instate tuition is heavily discounted and New York state has plenty of youth wrestling
  12. I don't know exactly but I've been told it's not the full allowance. Maybe half that
  13. So he didn't get the Dean Heil treatment exactly but it seems like all of the rules we discussed all went against his style. In aggregate its worth considering the impact
  14. Oh yeah I misses the most obvious rule that went against him which tilted the outcome of neutral positions as more heavily weighted than it was previously
  15. They also changed the rules against his previous style. Namely they increased stall calls on guys running parallel rides but not trying to turn. And also they have kept a closer eye on locks that go across the neck.
  16. I've watched every televised Buffalo dual over the last two years. He seems to be a very passionate coach with good results from limited resources. I view them as a team in a similar situation to Binghamton, but the Bearcats have been more impressive than the Bulls by a reasonable margin. Buffalo should aim to outperform teams like Binghamton as an appropriate benchmark.
  17. well he did lose to Jay Aiello and Lou DePrez in the tournament that he won
  18. My guess is Oregon State
  19. another weird one I noticed - the previously retired Billy Janzer from Rutgers
  20. Quoted for emphasis
  21. Nice pickup for the Beavers
  22. And in the short term, no one could blame any young wrestler from accepting a 6 digit endorsement deal for a team that loses money in a sport that very few care about. It does feel like we need some strong leadership in the sport at the moment
  23. Yeah I was talking about the whole sport. If Penn State and a few others figure out a way, that won't be enough. The others will die and Penn State will have no one else to compete against. I'm talking long term, but it feels inevitable without a change in strategy
  24. I heard that from Askren but folks here convinced me with good reason that even if possible, it would be difficult and perhaps unlikely
  25. I'm really glad to hear that. Thanks for sharing
