At this point, we should start giving exaggerated congratulations to ranked wrestlers who don't actually duck each other. We should commend Vito for going out there with nothing to gain after having beat Latona twice in the past including earlier this season.
It takes a lot of dedication. I don't put on weight naturally. I stress starve typically and need to make dedicated effort to regain weight after losing it during periods of stress. Naturally my appetite is very low.
Is DeAuggie hurt? That would be pretty sad if the number one matchup didn't happen. I had NC State and Binghamton on last night - mostly to see the 197 matchup. DePrez was a no show. Waste of time. I'm becoming a bit cynical now as a fan. Might be time to cancel another subscription.
I have never heard of someone being able to maintain the academic rigor of medical school while enduring the physical rigor and time commitment of D1 wrestling. But I probably have a lot to learn. Kizhan Clarke was doing law school at UNC when he got 2nd in the country, but not the same level of commitment required to medical school as far as I can tell
I watched someone do this as a body builder. Taking creatine, drinking tons of water, while eating things like a whole rotisserie chicken for lunch - and had lots of rice, fish, and steak that he would eat as snacks throughout the day.
Starting at 165, we have Max Mayfield for Northwestern instead of David Ferrante. Mayfield secures a last second takedown to win 6-4 over Andrew Sparks in a match that Minnesota was probably expecting to win.
3-0 Northwestern and we have another unexpected entry for the Wildcats: Ankhaa Enkhmandakh vs Bailee O'Reilly.
Wyoming is now facing Iowa State. in the 174 match, Julian Broderson hits an elevator on Hayden Hastings and Hastings shoulder pops out of the socket. He was pinned but more than that, seemed to be significantly injured. Hope he can heal before NCAAs. It's been a BRUTAL season for Wyoming.
McKee and DeAugustino are 2-2 against each other. That is going to be a juicy matchup. Not sure if Blockhus will definitely be back - there was word he was coming back for Big 10 dual season.
