People who I know from outside of wrestling (which is like 99% of people I know) are very normal and don't have as much tragedy or success as wrestlers I know.

Is it just me or do we have more than our fair share of personal tragedies in our sport? Some of the most tragic stories im aware of are in the wrestling world. Is this just in my imagination or Is there any possible explanation for the causation/correlation?

On the other hand, the best I ever wrestled was when I had been counted out by everyone because of injury. And that was my most impressive wrestling I've ever done. I had to relearn how to walk after a nearly fatal car crash and was in a wheel chair in November and won the league conferences in February and placed 7th in states. They even put me on a TV special on the local news for the comeback element (my wrestling on its own was never that level of noteworthy)
