Except that I didn't "attack the guy." I pointed out that Putin praised him. I could have a decent conversation with you, but it can't happen when you start the discussion with a lie. (Look back, the posts are locked in - there's no gray area, it's all there.)

Nike closes landmark Portland Factory Store due to theft
GreatWhiteNorth replied to mspart's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Mspart is quite an able player when it comes to banter. Doesn't seem like either is being unfair. Seems fine. Interesting comments on "Beloved poster", "better dudes", etc. I don't disagree. Then again, any such lists would depend on perspective. I doubt we'd all agree on the members of those lists. Nor should we. Pretending that we can separate the 'good guys' from the 'bad guys' here is, at best, silly. -
Decorum is highly dependent on the current group. At an opera at the Met, it is advisable. If a couple people are trying to rob you in the parking lot, it isn't at all necessary. Smacking the shit out of the robbers is just fine. When the audience is filled with turds, such as yourself and that useless TK clown show right here, who are interested in nothing useful - only intent on being childishly offensive. Then, run along children. You're a waste of all of our time.

I replied "Hmmm." And that makes it "point proven"!? You are full blown crazy town. Whatever you're taking, you should stop taking it. (Go back and look at the thread... all the crazy is there.)

It would be similar to Pearl Harbor if Japan had actually taken Pearl Harbor from the US and built a large military base in Hawaii. Then the US mounted a counter offensive to blow that base to kingdom come and take Hawaii back. That would be a good comparison. Otherwise, it's super weak. Bordering on BS.

Musk made the right decision regarding the Starlink controversy Maybe, maybe not. I see no need to defend one of the richest guys in the world. I do find it weird that regular people feel that need. He's rich. Rich doesn't make anyone infallible. But it does make some people idolize. The Trump prosecution shows rotten USA politics. The Trump administration showed rotten USA politics - the prosecution is there to clean that crap up. Or not. We'll see how it goes. That's why we have the Judicial branch of government. The Constitution was well thought out. The USA government treats other countries as second-class. Hmmm. Strange comment. What country are you referring to, exactly? And what bone do you have to pick, exactly? (Keep in mind, that it is a matter of regular discourse that some countries are considered 1st, 2nd, or 3rd world per Political Science.) Note - that this is different than calling other countries "shithole"... something that a previous president has done. Putin is a deranged, horrible, evil leader. What he's doing is despicable, to both Ukraine and the free world. Putin has been praising Musk all over the internet... that's the point I was making. Is that somehow confusing?

Look back - I only posted that Putin praised Elmo's actions. Which is 100% fact. Nothing more. Putin backs Elmo. he extrapolates that to mean Putin is praising his actions in regard to X No, you did that. the lengths people will go to to try and twist crap to fit a narrative in their head That is you, that's your head.

For Music Fans and Music Buffs
GreatWhiteNorth replied to Ban Basketball's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
A swing and a miss. For someone who posts quite a lot, you seem to have an occasional strange "anti-social" bent. No judgement on my part, just an observation. I generally like our banter. -
Fauci actually did not recommend shutting everything down. Things like the military, emergency services (police, fire stations, etc.), critical services (hospitals, gas stations, grocery stores, etc.) were always to be kept running. ALWAYS. The "lockdown" part was an interesting inclusion. None of us was ever actually "locked down?" Not a single person. We all could come and go as we pleased. That wasn't true in China and other countries... they actually "locked down." As far as "shut the country down" - yes, it's a vague term. But the point was to shut down any and all unnecessary activity to avoid unnecessary risk during a global pandemic that we had very little knowledge about containing. In retrospect, turned out to be a bad economic decision, a bad social decision, and a bad political decision. But it was not necessarily all that bad a decision at the time. When we didn't know how bad this was going to get, some of us opted to err on the side of caution. Maybe too much caution, as it turned out. Meh. What do you? You roll the dice and you take your chances. Nobody can see the future. What will never change is that we're imperfect people living in an imperfect world. Anybody who feels the need to lay blame on imperfection, needs to take a longer, harder look at themselves.

FFS... the point of asking for references is for situations where the information is not well known or easy to find. When some far-right wacko asserts the earth is flat and claims to have proof - asking for a reference makes sense. When the situation is clear, obvious, in the current news cycle, and simple to find via a 10 second google search... then the request for reference is just an annoyance. But - I think you already know that. Oh well... Russia's Putin praises Elon Musk as an 'outstanding person' and 'talented businessman' (msn.com) Russia’s Putin praises Elon Musk days after Ukraine Starlink controversy (msn.com) Putin Praises ‘Outstanding’ Musk While Vowing More Moon Missions (msn.com)

Putin is praising his actions... soooo...

I believe that is a Cortez. You have very good taste in footgear.

Hmmm.

C'mon - not every thread has to be about Trump.

Getting a loaf of bread at Luis Vuitton.
GreatWhiteNorth replied to Threadkilla's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
You are not wrong. Problem is that the authority that needs to be accountable is the Governor of TX. Buck stops there. -
When using a pellet grill, fat cap up. Unlike a typical gas grill, the heat source doesn't directly heat from the bottom. By design, it is indirect. In this situation, the melting of the fat cap on top doesn't penetrate the meat but it effectively 'bastes' it - keeping it moist. Scoring the fat cap is advisable if the cap is relatively thick. That will help it render and not leave an unrendered layer of fat on top of the finished meat. Some of us score the fat cap even if it isn't thick if we're going after a bit leaner version of pulled pork. But that's just personal preference. I'd prefer that my rub creates a delicious bark on the actual meat and not on fat - but that's just me.

'Dim' - that part of your post is accurate. You'll need to scroll back to see the quoted posts for an enlightened view. Or not. You be you.

Slow down there, freight train. As I posted, Trump does seem to do many things to convince people he's not racist. That was and is my point. Yet his words and actions betray him. He's as racist as they come. (Don't bastardize my post into a D vs R argument that I didn't make - start your own post to discuss that.)
-
Well, we do. We basically limit ourselves to two options. Vote R or D. So, the Executive branch of government is not to be respected when you don't like the candidates? I can not get behind that logic.

Looks like posters here have most of this covered - except the material used to make the vessel. I wonder what it would take to eliminate plastic jugs. Glass has always been the best option, and lined paper cartons were a pretty good alternative. Never much liked the plastic jug but it has seemed to dominate for quite some time.

1. Democracy is the best system of government the world has ever known. 2. I find quite a few posters here interesting, informed, and smart. I enjoy interacting with them. 3. Ah, I get it - you want to be "frenemies". Well done, bro.

The one and only thing I really dislike about this BBS is the piling on. As a wrestler, it goes against every competitive fiber in my being. A couple folks in a dispute, then a dozen appear out of nowhere and the dispute ends in whatever way the dozen choose. I do hate it.

Everybody seems to be missing this point - am I the only one that learned it in 4th grade? Respecting the position and Office of the President is not the same as respecting the person who currently holds (or previously held) the title - or their actions. Disrespecting the actions of the current president is a far different thing than disrespecting the actual Office of the President. It's a lot like condemning the actions of some police officers, but still respecting law enforcement. You can disrespect some officers' actions, but condemning law enforcement in general and defunding the police is a different matter entirely.

How do you know someone lost an argument?
GreatWhiteNorth replied to Bigbrog's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Does anyone really ever win or lose an argument when nothing is actually won or lost? "Arguments to the human mind are like a war of words – we’ll hurt people, end friendships, and even create enemies to win them and get our sense of superiority. However, unlike a real war of guns and grenades, arguments have no spoils. There is no land to be won, no gold to take, and no people to conquer."
