  1. I thought about this and edited my original post. You probably posted before my edited reply. I have since done additional research. AJ visited PSU in September 2019. He committed to OSU in October. The incidents at Blair occurred a couple of months later. By this point, the only major move was the TX to NJ move. However, there was still some strong evidence of an over-involved family and I think some issues in age group wrestling.
  2. He recruited AJ, even after the Blair problems, the multiple moves, and the demanding family...

  4. I looked at that quick and thought Frank Caliendo was in the portal!
  5. How many mock cinnabon threads will be posted in the month of June?
  6. More than likely? Are you a legal expert well-versed in the case? And I'm sure you are more than aware that Cael recruited Long after he was kicked off the Iowa State team for multiple run-ins with the law. Long is now a convicted sex offender.
  7. but historically Minnow LOVES the Ferraris! (though he hasn't seemed as vocal about it lately)
  8. Wasn't someone asleep at the wheel when Bartlett wrestled Nick Lee? Then there was that Taylor/Nickal weirdness in OTT finals.
  9. Some good points, and some truths. However the bigger/better clubs are coached by a PSU guy, an Indiana U guy, a Bucknell guy, and another by an Edinboro guy/and an ASU guy. The good Danbury kids (Camacho, Kovacs, and the Jacks all from NC State) all go across the border and train with an Iowa guy.
  10. Yes. I thought about Schultz and Monday after I posted!
  11. This reminds me of when I was coaching college. We had a returning NQ senior that wasn't having a great season. Great kid, but had overachieved as a junior, and was having some weight and training issues as a senior. At the end of the year, he was forced to wrestle off against a sophomore, who was really having a better season. Sophomore won. Senior left the room for a couple minutes and collected himself. He came back in and started drilling with the guy who had just beaten him. He did everything in his power to help that kid achieve his goals. I see him every once in a while and always tell him what an impressive gesture that was and how much I respect him.
  12. Brands was beat up. Eggum for Cael.
  13. I remembered Hancock, somehow forgot those two. Very very rare situation. They certainly didn't need to go down to #3! (or did they?)
  14. For training camps; different international tours; to keep guys active, engaged, and improving; etc. I've followed this sport for decades. Almost never has someone had to be replaced at Worlds/Olympics (Hancock, Garrett, who else?). The idea of going three deep has nothing to do with "we need a #3 in case the top two get hurt!!!"
  15. I feel like that is at least two straight by the much younger Vito, too. (possibly three straight) Add in familiarity, this is not a great trend for Garrett. In Garrett's favor, he has a training situation much better than it has been in years.
  16. I have nothing against Vito, but I would probably prefer Garrett. I like Garrett, and always have, despite some of the claptrap that comes out of his mouth. Still, I have yet to see anything that proves to me that Garrett is a "better athlete" as defined by 'jumping' and "explosion."
  17. I'm upset that I can't leave multiple reactions on this: "thanks;" " "haha" and "loves"
  18. That Chandler quote stuck with me.
  19. Some of the most athletic guys I've ever seen were members of the Russian Greco squad in the 90s. I remember Dan Chandler saying to me "if those guys grew up in the US, they'd be playing shortstop for the Dodgers."
  20. Really? You've measured these physical tests from all three athletes? How can you be so sure that Garrett jumps better than Vito?
  21. Ramazan went to high school in the US, as did Yaraslau, and McNeil. Maybe a couple others.
