Starocci took the mat and wrestled. He lost by inj default. He just did it in a way so as to 1) comply with qualifying requirements and 2) not further injure himself I don't think Brennan will go thru life blaming Carter Starocci for his not qualifying when he could have done so on his own merit.

When you have three guys who were there telling him he's wrong, then he's wrong. They were there, he was not.

I consider Shapiro as similar if not exactly Mesenbrink. I think Shapiro gets Lewan twisted up and taken down due to his activity and pace.

Starocci didn't prevent Wilson from qualifying, the fact that Wilson didn't wrestle better this year is what did that. Same as any other non qualifier in D1.

I see fans quite routinely express the notion that athletes are implying that God is helping them win, as in at the expense of another competitor or team. I don't believe that is the case at all. I believe they feel that God makes them better than only one person, and that is the person they otherwise would turn into if not for their faith.

Davis might not be the biggest post season surprise, but he is my biggest surprise of the entire season. Who would have chosen him as a Big Ten Champ in October when he was an expected 3rd string redshirt? Nobody.

I think they could lose some points at 174 with Griffiths knee injury.

He is such a huge guy and has the talent to create a lot of problems for anyone in that bracket. Would anyone be "shocked" if he actually took it? I favor Kerkvliet, but I would not be shocked if a guy like Schultz beats him in the semi finals. He's a bad draw for sure.

The point really is to seed according to criteria and not according to fan wishes.
