  1. Woods hasn't looked very sharp so far this season. Didn't take a real shot until the last 15 seconds
  2. Mark Hall brought the drip
  3. Ayala gets real sloppy in exchanges. I was hoping he'd be a finalist threat. Doesn't look like it.
  4. well, on one hand, that was a pretty uninspiring effort. On the other hand, Griffith has taken a loss every season since covid and has done pretty well at the last dance. Still, that is probably his worst loss ever
  5. Also, has it been discussed why no Fix? Sorry, I have been busy and haven't had a chance to read the other 68 CKLV threads (or even most of this one)
  6. Who is Ryder Downey?
  7. Haven't seen Vito compete since that one match. What's going on?
  8. I remember much was said about Sketchy Echy when the details came out. I just don't recall the exact details myself, other than it seemed like there was a universal and strongly negative response from the community? "Title IX is ripe for reform" would probably defend him though
  9. interesting. My knowledge around Sketchy Echy's troubles center around what he did to his wife. As far as I know, there is a whole lot more documented regarding AJ's other extracurriculars
  10. I haven't heard or read anything salacious about the younger brother but the other two, especially AJ, have quite the history. I would be very conflicted in my fandom if more than 1 brother made it to the team. That being said I vote over
  11. Kennedy was super enthusiastic about his commitment. He even made it early. His entire family is very much pro-Iowa. I think he sticks around.
  12. Do you see any team doing very well against Psu?
  13. I think you must be referring to the post in the "Who mans 184" thread by a poster named "blcoach80". That's not Gabe's father. His handle on HR is "ao_coachphil".
  14. In the first half, I felt that ISU squarely outwrestled the hawks. Things changed a bit after the break. However, I'm not certain it's clear which corner coached better. ISU had some weird moments (not challenging the end of 141, the 174 decision) but the Brands didn't totally outshine them either. Why didn't Woods choose top? Is part of Voinovich's inability to at least fake offense a result of a lack of pressure from the corner? It was hard to hear and pay attention to everything not to mention I've been drinking so take all of this with a bag of salt
  15. this looks pretty damning if reaction time didn't exist. Rewatching it like a million times on video replay, Woods rolls and catches a leg right after this still. It's definitely close though. Way too close.
  16. Big fan. I do think we should change majors to a 10 point differential seeing how just one move (Takedown + 4 nearfall) can get you nearly all the way to bonus point territory. We also might need to rethink techfall barriers at some point, idk. Carr definitely majored Caliendo today and demonstrated he was several levels above. I was surprised, however, to see how quickly and how close he got to a techfall because in my totally unbiased eyes Caliendo wrestled really tough while being totally outwrestled (if that makes sense). I didn't feel like I was watching a techfall take place but maybe I should get my eyes checked.
  17. There is rumbling online about a "situation" with Swafford. I think his status is in doubt. I feel like I see you, @nhs67, write more often about Swafford than anyone else. Is there a connection there? I think Kennedy scores about as many points at 174 as he does at 165. That is, it's draw dependent. This is assuming his knee doesn't hold him back. As exciting as it was to see Gabe win, I don't really think a win over Feldkamp is a good indicator for potential success at 184. Feldkamp had a solid tournament last year but he also had some head scratching losses. I don't see him as the 6th best 184. Furthermore, Feldkamp was able to move Gabe around quite a bit, it's just that Arnold did a really solid job of circling back in. I don't think a match against someone like Keckeisen looks pretty. At 174, I feel real good about Gabe against anyone outside the top 4. Overall, I think Gabe scores more points alone at 174 than he and Kennedy score combined across 174 and 184. Sucks for Kennedy if he can't crack the lineup. I really like him.
  18. OK nvm
  19. Bastida looking kinda slow. As if he might have the flu or something. Bradley Hill is not good, Bastida should be blowing him out of the water
  20. Broderson didn't even try to win the dual for his team
  21. That first period stalling was a brainfart but Gabe otherwise looked very savvy out there
  22. Gabe has the bulk but Feldkamp looks a head taller
  23. That was painful to watch.
  24. Wondering what Kennedy's cardio might be like given the time off and weight bump
  25. I guess the rumors of Kennedy getting his knee scoped recently might be true given the very large padded knee sleeve that he is sporting
