  1. Definitely a down year for EIWA. Only 5 guys ranked in the top 10, and one of the weights #1 seed has a 12-8 record and is ranked 32nd. Ugh.
  2. Maybe at the beginning of the season Arnold was better than Ferrari. Maybe he still is (but I doubt it).
  3. He didn't slow down Hamiti by much, losing 8-1. Kennedy kept it much closer than that vs Hamiti.
  4. I just felt compelled to comment to all the guys saying Angelo Ferrari is a "national championship contender this year". Technically anybody who makes it to the NCAA tournament is a "national championship contender". But I'll winnow it down to those guys who use that phrase to declare a guy an imminent threat to win an NCAA title. I don't think Angelo fits that mold. 1. He was pushed around and couldn't score an offensive point against the #1 guy. 2. He went into SV1 to defeat Plott, who has never come close to beating Keckeisen (and who has been majored by Keck in most of their matches). I think Keck would decisively beat Ferrari. The way I see it Angelo is, at best, a #3 guy this year at NCAAs. Still pretty great for a Freshman, but people are getting a little too amped.
  5. Which one, Wildwood Texas, or Wildwood NJ?
  6. Not to mention we don't even know if Arnold can beat Kennedy.
  7. Apparently you are unfamiliar with the saying "Never get high on your own supply".
  8. Hell yeah I'd have rooted against those guys, both times. Plus, didn't Gable win 14 titles in a row or something? I don't know if I'd have been a wrestling fan back when OSU was the Big Daddy. The sport was so boring back then. Don't believe me? Watch the video below.
  9. I remember stepping on the mat against whoever, or whatever, the opposing coach threw on the mat against me. Most of the time if I was going to get a forfeit my coach would move me up to the next weight and put my pussy buddy in to take the forfeit while I wrestled a guy in the next weight class above. It always worked out, the fat boys were putty in my hands.
  10. Damn....much more impressive than state.
  11. I've seen it a hundred times, guys proclaimed as the wrestling equivalent of Jesus. It wasn't that long ago that Carter Young was being touted because he beat Gross in a FS match. Carter has had an average career and is an R16 guy. Not bad, but much worse than anybody would've guessed he'd do. If Bo beat a D1 champ in a folkstyle match, then I'd be super impressed at his D1 potential, but beating a folk champ in a FS match? Still impressive, but not nearly as much.
  12. Do they not participate in a state tournament among the private schools? Would suck to wrestle for an elite team and not be able to compete in a state tournament.
  13. I wouldn't expect much. OU doesn't seem to have much commitment to it's wrestling program, the AD seems content with a mediocre program. Plus football re venue will be down for the foreseeable future, their HC in football is pretty bad and it'll take a few years to rebuild the team after he's finally fired in 2 or 3 years.
  14. The private schools have a colossal advantage, I'd imagine. Blair actually recruits state champs from other states, and I know they aren't the only HS that recruits.
  15. Iowa - Ayala PSU - Mesenbrink OK State - Hamiti Ohio State - Mendez Nebraska - Lovett
  16. Come on, what son wouldn't jump in and help his father fight, even if his father started the fight?
  17. Wow, that sucks. The kid wins the match on the mat, then his douchebag dad starts a fight. Kid naturally runs in to defend his dad. Hopefully the kid is allowed to continue in the tournament.
  18. I think parity is overrated. I like when a team is so dominant that it unites fans of the other teams against it. That was Iowa for a long time, now it's been PSU for a long time. Back in granddaddy's day it was Oklahoma State, lol.
  19. Texas is a lot tackier than NJ!
  20. Then it shouldn't be too much of an issue.
  21. And I could impregnate Shakira. Let's stick to reality here.
  22. Great performance by the Hawkeyes in defending their home turf.
  23. He owes the US Air Force money, you mean. Hendrickson is basically just a loaner from them. Now they have to build a plane big enough to carry him.
