  1. The transfers all (with maybe the exception of Amine) committed to OSU well before Taylor was hired. You're just talking out of your ___
  2. 3 of those were during CKLV, maybe he was conserving energy for the tourney rounds. In his 3 matches since, he has 1 MD and two decisions over two guys who haven't given up bonus points to any opponent all year and they've collectively faced Peyton Hall (2x), Terrell Barraclough, Will Miller, Julian Ramirez, Max Brignola, Cameron Sneed and Brock Mantanona. That would be a crazy thing to do to a 3x AA who transfered into your program for his final year of eligibility, and is winning
  3. That was the most competitive dual a team has given OSU thus far imo. The Robinson win was huge, and then your guys kept Hamiti, Plott, and Hendrickson away from bonus points. That's honestly impressive
  4. good calls. I didn't expect Hamiti Singleton to be so close.
  5. I'm picking Fish as well. I think Witcraft and Hughes are both still out at 33. I think OSU has started at 125 for all the home duals so far and I don't expect a change here. Having Spratley-Robinson and Hendrickson-Trumble as bookends is pretty sweet.
  6. Predictions anyone?
  7. Wait two weeks until they put it up on YouTube
  8. Zahid Valencia v. Aaron Brooks as well! More matches to be announced Ono and Spencer will be at a catch weight between 57 and 61kg. Zahid and Brooks will be at 92.
  9. I've seen that gesture done a number of times in MMA and it's always been well received. The winner is basically saying that it was a hard-fought match and the loser has nothing to hang their head about. Whether you like it or hate it, it was clearly done with good intentions and that's worth noting, especially for AJ
  10. It seems most believe Coby Merrill won't follow his older brother Cody, but if he did, they could potentially match up against the Mirasolas. I guess they still could in a tournament, just not as teammates.
  11. They have only one ranked wrestler, #25 197lb freshman Remy Cotton
  12. My apologies everyone, turns out Mineo is even worse than I thought. Kozak tweeted he talked to Lehigh and it's not true. Kozak reports Crookham "will miss some time", but it's not a broken elbow and it's not season-ending. I thought even Mineo wouldn't put out suspect information on something like this, but I underestimated him. I'm sorry for spreading it. This is why it's worth supporting actual journalists.
  13. My understanding was that it's settled that he'll operate out of Tinker AFB in OKC and represent the AF in wrestling while training at Cowboy RTC
  14. Broken elbow according to Mineo
  15. Agreed. He's been boring in his fights against higher quality (but still mediocre) competition. I'd rather watch him wrestle
  16. And he was never the best 86er to begin with, but those things are kinda beside the point. The question is what people think about Bo's claim of being the best 86kg wrestler in the world right now. I mention Brooks because he recently completed at 86 and is someone Bo has been rolling with for a long time. To be the best 86er, Bo would need to at least be better than Brooks (and then some)
  17. He claimed he's the best 86kg wrestler in the world currently. He said it a couple times during a YouTube video he released today in conversation with Chael Sonnen. That would imply he's regularly beating Aaron Brooks in the room and I find that a little hard to believe. Thoughts?
  18. As long as we're speculating, Arnold v. Hamiti and Ferrari v. Plott would be super fun to watch
  19. Agreed that lack of parity really kills the fun. I stopped watching college football partly because of the huge SEC bias. Wrestling media seems more fair by comparison, probably because there aren't as many direct financial ties to certain conferences. Penn State's insane dominance makes things less fun to watch and is probably bad for college wrestling overall, but at least media coverage is pretty even handed
  20. Oof, yeah that's unfortunate. I understand the dad's instinct to defend his kid, but sounds like he's just making things worse
  21. Totally agree with you; criticism is fair. I'm talking about badmouthing. I didn't see the VaTech board or the "choice words" the other poster is referencing, but I've seen plenty of boards saying their guy at X weight sucks, etc.
  22. UNI with the big upset win 24-9. Pretty impressive performance as a team. Flo had them ranked 8th and Nebraska ranked 4th in the dual rankings. Their next big test is at home against Ok St on the 24th
  23. Fans should be supporters imo. I don't understand bad mouthing your own team. TJ is clearly not the same this year. Not sure what's going on, but wish him the best
