  1. Well I looked at the UWW schedule and they have the Senior World’s scheduled for this same venue next September. So I hope it will be better attended. I know that some venues would be better but they may not have the airport, the hotels, and restaurants, so maybe that’s why they chose Vegas. When I went to see the 2015 Worlds at the Orleans it was a ghost town for Greco and the Women, but it got packed for MFS. Anyway I hope people will attend and support our team and our sport.
  2. Well Davino, won the Gold, but the way he wrestled made it closer than it should have been. James I think was just a little bit overmatched, but great effort to make the finals. Rademacher wrestled really well, and made the finals, so great job. Merrill steamrolled his guy for the Bronze. He wrestled like we are used to seeing our guys perform. Congrats to him. We will have to see what Lillendahl can do tomorrow, as well as Rademacher.
  3. Wow, the bottom has basically dropped out beneath us. I can’t believe it
  4. Shumate, was doing very well, unfortunately I believe that he tore his pec against Italy. Which was a double tragedy, besides the injury he was clearly better than his opponent. Hopefully he can heal quickly
  5. Well, I didnt see Sinclair losing, now we have to root for Moldova, fingers crossed
  6. The U.S. Women doing pretty darn good. Hopefully we can continue this momentum.
  7. Yes, very unfortunate. Her opponent scored off the whistle, twice.
  8. Yet, some kids still make it, and I hope that we see a new renaissance of talent, like Snyder and Burroughs. We have young kids like the Jax Forrest’s and many others, too many to name really, that hopefully will prevail. But it’s like any sport, every little kid dreams about being in the Big Leagues, yet so very few make it.
  9. Well I did not know this. When the U.S. Open was being held at the South Point they would have the Western Regional going on at the same time, and it seemed like there were a thousand kids competing. But I am out of the loop so who knows.
  10. I can appreciate this sentiment, but we were senior world team champs only about 20 years ago. That is a huge dropoff. Yeah, and like I have asked before, why the drop off, how come we don’t have any more Joe Warren’s or Matt Lindland’s anymore. I think our last multi medalist is Andy Bisek.
  11. You’re are correct, but we have to start somewhere.
  12. I think he showed his ass a bit when he said their goal is to win "a medal" in 2028 Not multiple medals, not gold medals, just...a medal Well, I don’t know where we stand as a National program, but I am sure that we are near the base of a very large mountain, and it’s going to take quite a bit to get to the top. So who knows when we can accomplish this. But for this tournament I know that we eventually got outclassed, but we did take some positive steps forward.
  13. From the video posted above from our coach, I agree with him. We had 11 wins to 10 losses, and normally we don’t have that many wins in a tournament like this. While it is true that we all wanted better results, but if you told me that before this tournament started that we would get 11 wins, I would have thought cool. I believe that this tournament is a positive, and hopefully we can build from this.
  14. Wow, tough quarter finals for us. Hopefully our guys can get pulled back into repechage.
  15. Morning two, and our first two guys have logged two wins, so hopefully this will be a better day
  16. Well, I hope you’re right, because the cost of this arena and all the staff must be astronomical. And it is kind of a shame that there isn’t crowds of people to support our guys.
  17. Well Team USA did pick up four wins in this initial morning session. But they are going to need some help to get into repechage. What I found pretty shocking is that the arena is basically empty, I would have thought that there would be more fans, especially for Team USA.
  18. This is from Wikipedia: USA Greco-Roman wrestling has historically struggled, earning only 14 Olympic medals (3 gold, 6 silver, and 5 bronze) since its first Olympic appearance in 1904. The most successful period for the U.S. was between the 1996 Olympics and the 2007 Worlds, during which they won 22 medals, but performance has declined since then, with only six medals earned from 2008 onwards. So I guess my question is how was it that we had pretty good results between 96, and 07, and what has caused us to fall off afterwards.
  19. Well it’s anyone guess, but probably interests, and resources. I do find it kind of odd though that we have had some pretty darn good Greco guys in the past.
  20. So many teams have a ton of talent, so I’m not sure how Iowa will do. I would think that they will probably perform as they have the last couple of seasons. I do have to say that Iowa has performed very well at the Nationals these last couple of years, credit to the wrestlers and coaches.
  21. My thought is that Real just wasn’t in the shape he needed to be in to counter Bo’s withering attacks. I don’t know what kind of training and prep Real had been doing leading up to this, but perhaps the lack of live competition might have been a factor. Now I’m sure that Real had live go’s and simulated matches, but it didn’t look that it was enough. There is also the question is that did Real’s injury hamper his training and performance. Or Bo, is just that guy right now
  22. I actually like Greco, and it must be incredibly tough. I just wish that our guys were better.
  23. Maybe, but we are talking about an older Kyle Snyder. So it’s anybody’s guess. I’m not sure who will be on our team in 2028, but I am pretty sure that we will have some new faces.
  24. Yeah maybe, but they were saying that same thing about J’den and that never panned out
  25. Wow, I wonder what his plans are, does he take a run at Snyder?
