  1. And potentially Kharchla at 174, he may have a MRS if he wants it and he is entered in the US Open this year so he is not done competing.
  2. Wrestling will always be a sport with more lightweights than heavyweights. If you weigh under 165 as an 18+ year old, wrestling is one of the only sports you can realistically compete in at a D1 level; anyone who weighs more than that has way more options and therefore is more likely to end up playing another sport. Also, people tend to be similar in size and stature to their parents, and lots of wrestling parents/former wrestlers are short, so their kids can only get so heavy based on frame restrictions.
  3. Where does he slide in? 157 with Cannon going up or down? 149 or 165 if Cannon stays pat? He has a redshirt if he wants to use it?
  4. Looking at Michigan's lineup this year they are shaping up pretty solid 125: Sotelo 133: Ragusin 141: Lemley 149:McNeil 157: Catrabone 165: Beau 174: Brock 184: Bullock/Transfer 197: Walters/Transfer 285: Ghadiali
  5. Unless Lockett or Facundo makes 157... 157/165: Lockett/Facundo 174: Ryder 184: BT 197: CM 285: Doucet
  6. They also have Gaj and Torres coming in at 157/165, that weight area is going to be a battle for the next 3-5 years
  7. 149 not 141. Beat Paniro this year at NCAAS
  8. Would make sense, hope he ends up about an hour North though
  9. Ohio State to complete the circle???
  10. Another 157? They already have a potential logjam from 141-157
  11. Elam says training with Yonger was a big part of his decision. That is going to be a major 1-2 punch to end the lineup
  12. a tapped in D11 guy a few months back said Pinto to Rutgers was a done deal
  13. 80kg also has Liam Crook, Saleh Tsarni, Nick Singer, and Mario Hutcherson. Those 4 are studs and with Stewart having a down year I am curious if he bounces back and dominates or gets pushed by these guys
  14. announced today on his IG
  15. Probably depends how the offseason goes. Would guess he does some 65kg stuff to test if he thinks he is big enough yet
  16. 70 is looking like it could be really interesting this year, Yianni, Green, Larkin, Duke, Taylor, Shapiro, Kasak, Jacques and a bunch more. It really gets interesting if Zain does compete again (which he hinted at in a recent Flo video). Also curious what weight McKenna ends up at
  17. I don't think they are that close, they were HS teammates and club teammates, but there is nothing I have seen from either of them that signifies them as super duper best friends as the wrestling forums seem to suggest at times
  18. That would be a good fit for ASU, Vince is pretty solid and I think he makes NCAAs if he stays healthy this year
  19. Easier to beat the guys at OSU than Ono
  20. I agree that at this point he has to be considered legit, also think it is really interesting that he is half-Iranian. That is a good combo for wrestling and further, Japan having a legit wrestler above 79kg makes a huge difference for them in potentially winning a team world title (though they likely still struggle to outscore the big three nations)
  21. I can give it a shot with the roster as is, assuming no transfers 125: Spratley 133: Hughes/Sakamoto/McComas 141: Jamison/Swiderski/Hughes 149: Swiderski/Jamison/Travis 157: Travis/Swiderski/Robideau 165: Lockett/Facundo 174: Facundo/Lockett 184: Thompson/Merrill 197: Merrill/Thompson 285: Doucet 133-157 will all depend on how Jamison/Swiderski/Travis works out and I don't know who is what weight/can make what weight. I think the first name listed going straight down would be the most likely lineup if the roster doesn't change
  22. If Cannon ends up at 165 next year and eventually goes 174 he would have wrestled 141, 157, 165, and 174 in college. Talk about some growth! Also if Kharcala is really done, 174 is a hole for Ohio State next year, and where Paddy could end up.
