Now schools are still going to have donors that want their money to go to wrestling. I'd be curious if they are better off giving to the school or giving to a NIL trust. I have a feeling college wrestling is going to look very different in 2-3 years.

Because the school tells the coach they can't afford to pay a non profit sport an extra 1 million a year. 20 more $50K scholarships vs 30 kids paying some sort of tuition. I may be way off on this but the team's without 100000 seat football venue or a consistent elite 8 plus basketball team are going to struggle. I don't think this is going to be about what a wrestling coach wants to do. More of a money issue from the top.

I don't think they have to use 9.9 now. IMO I don't see every OPT IN school giving anywhere near 30 full scholarships for wrestling. Let's say a team has 40 on roster. Giving 9.9 means 30 are paying the school. Now change that to 30 on full ride. I just don't see it happening.

That's not they way I read the agreement. Don't think everyone has to be on scholarship. It says that school may offer 30.

I would disagree that he hasn't ducked. NWCA dual tournament he wrestled day 1 but didn't wrestle day 2. Was it a weight issue, was it a duck issue or was it load management? To many it looks like a duck. UNI & Iowa State had most of their team at Soldier Solute. Where where their starters for that?
