The 1st sentence of your post doesn't apply to me, I'm not a leftist - I'm middle of the road. Call me what you want, but you'll be wrong if you call me either left or right. Doesn't matter how many times you try. I don't believe any bit of child abuse should be tolerated in any way. It has nothing to do with politics. The rest is quite fair. Where is that same energy? In Israel, young girls were raped and taken hostage. Sickening. Yet, at Columbia, college kids went crazy to side with the hostage takers. Disappointing to see. (And some of their parents joined in without adding a single bit of rationale. Even more disappointing.) Where was that same energy for these young girls? In Ukraine, many children have been abducted and taken to Russia to who knows what end. Imagine a border country invading yours without provocation. Killing so many and stealing children. Russians are putrid low life. Where was that same energy for these children? So many more examples recently in quite a few countries. It's a fair question. Where is that same energy? My best guess is that the problem is so enormous, that Americans focus on a smaller piece. Their own. And even then, the problem is not readily solvable.

What it is telling is that they are rejecting the D vs R fight that gets neither of them anywhere past 50%. And, MUCH MORE IMPORTANTLY, it doesn't move the country forward when everyone is preoccupied with the dumb constant R vs D battle while the needle stays in the center. The result is that we just grind to a halt. They see that and are responding to it. All this time, while we fiddle with D v R crap, other countries with bad intentions are preparing for military action. Put your R v D garbage aside. Once Trump is in office and starts commanding the military, I suspect we'll all legitimately want to be on the same side. Not saying it will get ugly. But it sure as he** could get ugly with a moments notice anytime. Instead of BS'ing around like petty little bitches, it'd be better to get our stuff together and act like citizens of a proud country. That would do us well, if we can put it together.

Rape and sexual assault are universally thought of as something that should not be tolerated. Rs and Ds are together on this. But how about Sexual Abuse? How is that one universally thought of in your opinion? A jury trial found Trump guilty of it - it would appear that is OK, based on the non-fallout that followed. Perhaps we're 'drifting' toward cultural acceptability of more angry hate. Toward other countries. Toward more racism. Toward more misogyny. And toward more sexual abusive behavior. We're watching it being displayed by the highly followed president-elect on the news and in social media every single day. And he's not facing any consequences because of it It's not a stretch to think this is tilting our culture toward thinking this kind of hate is OK. Remember the CEO murderer who was adored by social media for shooting the father of three in the back?
