For me, in terms of folkstyle, Zain Retherford was the best folkstyle wrestler. Incredible in all three positions. Pushed the pace, was physical, could shoot and score to both legs, great short offense, and committed crimes against humanity on top.
Anyone who can listen to normal human beings in the sport talk, and then listen to the Brands brothers sound like they just got out of the nuthouse whenever someone puts a mic in front of them, and think that's okay, will NEVER understand why Iowa keeps falling behind PSU. The most professional organization in possibly all of American sports vs a bunch of chuckle***duck**s
I'm talking about Gilman? I had no clue you were talking about JE. Surprised he was allowed out of the house. Thought maybe he'd need an ankle monitor.
Who got their hand raised? Lee made up 10 points of ground on Eierman in a short period of time. I don't have to dunk on Iowa, everyone just watched their wrestlers score in the wrong basket for two hours on national tv.
But that's the point, dude. Lee kept getting better. Eierman plateaued and made the finals in a cleared-out weight class and lost to the only other guy. Penn State guys keep getting better.
Cope harder, I guess? there are 30 head coaches in the country that would get more out of Iowa's resources, including two in that state. The fact that a historic, iconic, proud program like Iowa lets themselves be coached by two brothers who clearly don't have all the crayons in the box is downright sad.
