  1. Indeed. From 1974 on. And they only had 3 on 3 occasions in those 49 years.
  2. The rank next to their name on the individual page includes things like non-starters and redshirts. Go to this page to find the rank of just starters. https://www.wrestlestat.com/d1/rankings/starters
  3. Sadly there is someone below them Which raises the question, what is your over/under for PSU vs MSU tomorrow? WrestleStat has it at 43 (43-0). I think I have to take the over. Seems like another 50ish point win to me.
  4. No, only true freshmen get the 5 free dates
  5. Ohio State higher ranked in 5, Illinois higher ranked in 5. Tasty.
  6. He won three decisions in a row then lost three in a row by pinfall last tournie
  7. Only Iowa, Cornell, and PSU can match that. Cornell makes it on a technicality since they technically had zero in 2021. Iowa's streak is 49 tournaments. Cornell's streak is 20 tournaments. PSU's streak is 14 tournaments. Virginia Tech's streak is 11 tournaments.
  8. Jimmy has really lost a lot off his fastball.
  9. Does it have to be folk? If not, for pure entertainment value it is hard to beat the complete meltdown by Musukaev in this one. He looks exhausted 120 seconds into this match. I am guessing he closed the bars in Instanbul the night before. From 9-0 to DQ'd. Priceless.
  10. Vincenzo Joseph vs Alex Marinelli 3 Hostile environment. One point dual with PSU needing this one for a chance (they lost anyway). Marinelli leads the series 2-0 at this point. Two guys who love the upper body ties. Many upper body ties. Blood. Lots and lots of blood.
  11. I checked with my joints and they concur
  12. I'm not even sure how old I am. I was too young to remember when I was born.
  13. That is a function of the intersection of the raw data with the fitting process. In the 33 seed era several seeds below 18 have as many or more AAs than the 18 seed. The 26 seed is actually the most with 4 AAs to just 1 for the 18 seed. But because the 27, 28 and 33 seeds also have an AA the fitting process pulls the hump a little to the right of where it is in the raw data while also filling in some holes. This is partly to satisfy the two conditions that the number of AAs always equals 8 per weight and the sum of all possibilities per seed always equals 1. The numbers differ slightly every year.
  14. Again with the never ending Twitter post?
  15. I guess I am too focused on the end of the year. I went back and checked 2024 rankings. They had 9 ranked guys in the pre-season. It was down to 7 by the turn of the year. And dropped to 5 in March. 2023 started at 10 and dropped to 8 by the turn of the year, then stayed there the tournament.
  16. Sadly, with Maximo Renteria's revenge win over Brendan McCrone on Sunday Lilledahl drops to #12.
  17. Kish is a pretty good answer. Oklahoma has 8 guys ranked in the top 33. Granted only Willie McDougald and Gaven Sax are in the top 16, but I cannot recall OU having this many ranked guys recently.
  18. Good news @ILLINIWrestlingBlog, PSU's chances of 10 top 5 wrestlers after January 17 took a modest hit this past week. Nebraska's Caleb Smith lost to Northern Iowa's Trever Anderson knocking Smith down two pegs to #7 in this week's Intermat rankings. On the other hand, Smith has a chance to redeem himself, and reclaim the #5 spot on January 11, when Nebraska duels Minnesota in a dual. The Gopher's Cooper Flynn now occupies the #5 slot that both Smith and Lilledahl look at so covetously. A Smith win over Flynn followed by a Lilledahl win over Smith should get the job done. Author's Note: The sig bet is open up to, including, and after February 16 Also PSU's chances of 10 AAs dropped to 5.9% this week.
  19. After saying that you are suddenly enamored of proof? This is another favorite technique of these off topic threads. The demands for proof even though no matter what is said in response will never be accepted as proof, and in spite of the fact that you do not burden yourself with the same standard.
  20. I will give you the Civil War, but not a plot that was only ever discussed and never attempted.
