You would need to give odds since that’s a tall order. I’d take 5-1 if you’re giving it. The only one I think has a chance at finals is Van Ness and that’s no easy task.

possibly Bartlett because it’s a weak weight

    and no..he’s not beating Yianni

That works for me. Your $20 to my $100?

    And I pre-funded my lose.

Yep and the anti PSU sentiment is that guys that haven’t wrestled a full season in college won’t compete for National Championships and it’s unheard of for freshman/true freshman to compete for national titles because they’re not “proven.”

Taylor, Nico, Nolf, Bo, Cenzo, Hall, Starocci, Brooks, Suriano (if not for injury) all were in or won national championship matches as freshman but according to “the board faithful” they are just “unknowns”

I consider myself to be a bigger PSU fan than @TBar1977 (albeit a more realistic one), and I would be willing to bet $100 that none of PSU's 125, 141, 149 or 157 make the final this year.

If I win, the $100 goes to Nittany Lion Wrestling Club. If I lose I send $100 to a charity or wrestling club of your choice?

Mind you, I would be happy to lose this bet.

I concur, I love his wrestling takes and the way he breaks down wrestling things. When he's not talking about wrestling I tune him out. He did call me a legend one time, so I have to at least semi-like the guy.

He called me a wimp, so yeah, I semi-like the guy, too.

I guess this will be another case where people like you will only realize it when the seasons over. You really think 125, 141, 149, 157 (Haines) and 165 are unknowns?? If so, I can’t argue with you.

if you know talent, you know it.  If you don’t, you sit and wait till end of year and then admit it. Either way it will play itself out.

but you all can convince yourself of PSU/Cornell tying in a dual

The reality of PSU is that they are a dominant tournament team as currently constructed, but only a very good dual team. If some of their unproven weights turn out (125, 141, 149, 157, 165) then they will also be a dominant dual team. But they are not proven, just full of potential at this point

I have Yianni undefeated his last two years (31 and 34 matches) and won list last 19 matches as a frosh after taking his only college loss to Eierman.

He was 28-0 last year, 29-0 as a sopmore and won his last 18 as a freshman (the last two numbers per the Cornell roster). So I think it is a 75 match win streak, with a chance to get over 100.

    Penn State vs. Arizona State

125 - Howard vs. Courtney - Courtney wins by Dec. 3-0 ASU

    133 - Bravo-Young vs. McGee - B-Y wins by Dec. 3-3 tie

141 - Bartlett vs. Vasquez - Bartlett wins by Dec. 6-3 PSU

149 - Van Ness vs Parco - Parco wins by Dec. 6-6 tie

157 - Berraclough vs. Teemer - Teemer wins by MD - 10-6 ASU

165 - Facundo vs Negron - Facundo wins by Dec. - 10-9 ASU

174 - Starocci vs. Valencia - Starocci wins by MD - 13-10 PSU

184 - Brooks vs. Montalvo - Brooks wins by Dec. - 16-10 PSU

197 - Dean vs. Norfleet - Dean wins by MD - 20-10 PSU

285 - Kerkvliet vs Schultz - Schultz wins by Dec. - 20-13 PSU

Obviously tho one injury in Penn State's lineup could alter this result quite a bit.

If ASU is trailing by 10 going into heavyweight, does Zeke Jones go back to his playbook and pull Schultz while he is standing matside with his headgear on?
