  1. It is an Ivy League thing rather than a Starocci thing. They do not do grad transfers. And I am hard pressed to think of an undergrad transfer either, even though I do not think it is banned.
  2. Not necessarily. Just bigger than it used to be.
  3. Q: When is $9 billion not $9 billion dollars? A: When it is tied up for six months in Trump Media stock. Yesterday the company filed a prospectus to issue additional shares for a wide variety of reasons to a handful of holders. Some of it will come from the exercise of options granted to the financiers, some of it may come from additional shares issued to Trump (assuming the stock stays above 17.50-ish for a period of time). In the same prospectus they filed to allow Trump to sell all of his shares when the lockup period expires. This now becomes the real race for cash. What will Trump Media shares be worth by the time Trump is able to sell? And remember, his cost basis is zero. So it is all profit, even if he sells at $0.01. At the current rate of free fall it does not look promising. After opening at $70.90 on March 26, the first day of trading, it has dropped nearly 67% to below $24. While that drop has been persistent (it has closed lower on 11 of 15 days), there have been two main events that caused larger than average daily drops. When DJT filed financials with revenue of only $4 million and losses of $58 million, the stock dropped $13.30 (-22%). With the filing of this prospectus and the market realization that 256% of the public float will likely be sold ASAP when the lockups expire, the stock was down $5.98 (-18%) yesterday. Open questions: Will Trump be able to earn the additional earnout shares? Or will the stock drop below the key levels between $12.50 and $17.50, invalidating the extra shares? Regardless what will the price be when Trump begins to sell his shares the second the lockup expires? Before answering, remember that he will be selling more shares than are currently publicly available. With a bunch of other selling shareholders (the financiers), now what do we think the stock trades for? How come no one has posted their receipts yet? If you liked it at $70, you should love it at $24.
  4. I have never understood the argument that a transfer is somehow not living up to an agreement when the agreement takes the form of, "if you go to school here, we will not charge you tuition for only the time you are here". On the flip side, coaches sign multi-year contracts that they do not always honor.
  5. Maybe it isn't a weight issue, or just a weight issue?
  6. Not wrong at all. The "it" you are referring to is not the "it" Paul was referring to. The "it" Paul is referring to is using existing programs and laws to forgive debt. The "it" you are referring to was Biden's attempt to blanket waive student debt.
  7. No part of what @Paul158 complained about is extra-legal, Supreme Court overruled, executive order. So, yes I overlooked that because it was not the point.
  8. Another oldie, but goodie: President Trump has offered to forgive some student loan debt as part of a new $1.8 trillion stimulus proposal to House Democrats, indicating how rapidly the idea of cancelling student debt has gained broad, bipartisan appeal. Trump’s latest attempt to revive stimulus talks comes after he abruptly pulled the plug on congressional negotiations last week. The administration is now proposing that $25 billion of the $1.8 trillion package be dedicated to student loan forgiveness.
  9. See Trump, Donald J. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/27/business/trump-chicago-taxes.html#:~:text=Trump's 401 Mezz Venture reported, reflect the unpaid Fortress sum. "Mr. Trump’s federal tax returns, as well as loan documents filed in Cook County, Ill., provide clues to what happened: Mr. Trump was let off the hook for about $270 million. It was the type of generous financial break that few American companies or individuals could ever expect to receive, especially without filing for bankruptcy protection." and "Mr. Trump’s 401 Mezz Venture reported about $181 million in canceled debts. Two years later, DJT Holdings, an umbrella company that the Chicago project had been folded into, reported that another $105 million of debt had been forgiven. Most of that appears to reflect the unpaid Fortress sum." and "In many ways, it repeated a pattern that had played out more than a decade earlier at Mr. Trump’s Atlantic City casinos: a cycle of defaulting on debts and then persuading already-burned lenders to cut him a break."
  10. Where are you seeing brackets? I have not been able to locate them. Track is still blank. This USAW article from today has him listed as probable still. https://www.themat.com/news/2024/april/12/olympic-trials-preview-olympic-champ-taylor-awaits-talented-challenger-in-86-kg-finals-series
  11. It will be nice when Amazon makes it to Wisconsin
  12. You would also need to know the scores prior to any pinfalls to determine if they would have ended by TF prior to the PF.
  13. You are right. I missed adding Williams extra half point. Good catch. 172 is the new 170.
  14. No. He was not the greatest wrestler of his time, not even remotely close, so how can he be in the conversation all-time?
  15. The bracket on wrestlingstats and the NWHOF (same bracket) is problematic. I eventually came to the conclusion that Lincoln McIlravy's TF were actually MT. I am pretty convinced on one of them and fairly convinced on the other. That brings his total down a point. There is a more contemporaneous bracket on the UNI website for the tournament (I can't believe it still exists) I used to come to this conclusion. I cover it in excruciating detail in the below thread. In that thread there is also some phenomenal information from @gimpeltf who worked the scoring table at that tournament.
  16. I think so too. I feel like running a big club, managing kids and parents, setting up rules and expectations, all are part of the college equation. If he takes this job, all of college wrestling has to be excited for the possibilities.
  17. Re-scoring using today's rules 1986 Iowa would have had +13 bonus points, +4 placement points, and -7 advancement points for a net gain of +10, putting them at 168 total points and just shy of the 171.5 adjusted points for 1997 Iowa and the 172.5 points for 2024 PSU.
  18. I think on Monday, but not 100% on that
  19. I had forgotten how strange these OTT brackets are when there is a semi-finalist laying in wait. The way they have it set up means at 57kg: Arujau gets a triple bye, Richards and Suriano get a double bye, Fix and Gilman get a single bye, The #5, #8, #9, #12 all get a single bye, But the #6, #7, #10, #11 do not get a bye. At 65kg: Retherford gets a triple bye, Lee gets a double bye, Alirez and Diakomihalis get a single bye, The #4, #5, #8, #9, #12, #13 all get a single bye, But the #6, #7, #10, #11 do not get a bye.
