If it’s true that he used university funds to buy merchandise from his wife’s company, that’s not really minor IMO.

That was the original allegation, if I recall.

I am assuming, if its true that they were going to reinstate him, that it either was not true or he got approval to spend the money on his wife's merch and thus whatever he did do was fairly minor.

I don't think they would offer to reinstate him if he was misappropriating funds.

That really depends on their spending policy, contracts, etc.  I wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of discretionary funding for needed materials that he can use.  While it may seem inappropriate because of it being his wife's company, that doesn't make it inherently a problem, hence the university coming back and saying there wasn't an issue.

Materiality should matter. How much was spent? $1,000? Not a big deal. $1MM? OK then.

Also what was the context? Did he go to his wife's company because she gave a discount to provide merch at cost, so no profit from the order? Still could be a violation of the school's Nike contract, but at least would demonstrate that there was no intent to profit off the university.

Directly after weigh ins.

Available to PSU wrestlers immediately after weigh-ins. Available to wrestlers from other Big Ten teams several days before weigh-ins.

Credit to poeta for standing by his convictions.

As a public university, has anyone requested documents or information from the Illinois Freedom of Information Act (5 ILCS 140)?

Might be a nice project for Willie while he is rehabbing his RAF injuries. Could be done from the comfort of his chair
