Kish took the only (bigger) he could get after many others turned it down.  If you’re going to take a job that nobody else wants you better be damn good at it.

Well he did add Mark Hall to the staff. I would think he could draw in some upper weight guys being as he can still roll with guys. Although I would never model my team after Mark Hall as far as wrestling styles go.

Kish ran off the last tie to OU, and that was not smart IMO. There is a ton of tradition from the older guys, and most don't show up to anything. There were two guys that wanted interviews and never got one. Coleman Scott and Kendric Maple.

When he was up at NDSU he had massive turnover with assistant coaches.

vs #18 Julian Farber (Northern Iowa) 1/30

vs #3 Evan Frost (Iowa State) 2/1

vs #4 Drake Ayala (Iowa) 2/22

 

My guess is if he wins all of those, convincingly, they pull the redshirt and send him off. Nobody has ever graduated high school and won an NCAA championship in the same school year.
