The conservative Fifth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals ruled that the federal law banning handgun sales to teens is inconsistent with the nation's historical tradition and violates the Second Amendment.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court said on Friday that it will take up its latest gun rights case and consider striking down a strict regulation on where people can carry firearms in Hawaii.

President Donald Trump's Republican administration had urged the justices to take the case, arguing the law violates the court's landmark 2022 ruling that expanded gun rights by finding the Second Amendment generally gives people the right to carry firearms.

The court will consider Hawaii's law that bans guns on private property like stores and hotels unless the owner has specifically allowing them, verbally or with a sign.

That's not a gun ban at all. They're leaving it up to the property owner, and property owner has every right to not allow guns on their property.

Only difference between here and other places is what the assumption is when the owner doesn't explicitly say.

Your attempts to refute me are absolutely pathetic. First of all, this is for the sales; not possession. Second, this is specific to a certain type of gun. Not at all what I'm talking about. Yes, there are certain guns that people shouldn't have. For example, assault rifles. Certainly machine guns. Where you draw the line is somewhat arbitrary but even most wingers don't think anybody should be able to own any type of weapon they want. 

In this case, these guns can easily be converted to fully automatic weapons so, yes, there is great argument for them to be banned. Nobody needs a fully automatic weapon for self defense purposes. Get a regular semi-automatic weapon and you're fine in CA.

Nobody on here is in any danger of getting their guns taken away from them. Not even close. Even in NYC, I can guarantee that nobody is going to make regular law abiding adults turn their guns in, regardless of who wins the mayor race.

To your argument if it’s only sales…. Only this or that type of gun ….
